The Preparer will be responsible for preparing and reviewing a variety of complex tax returns for individuals and businesses. This position requires in-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations, excellent communication skills, strong excel skills, and a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.


What you will do

  • Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates.
  • Conduct tax research and planning to minimize tax liabilities and identify tax-saving opportunities for clients.
  • Consult with clients on bookkeeping as needed.
  • Work closely with senior management to develop internal policies and procedures.
  • Review financial records, income statements, and documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current tax laws and regulations.
  • Train and mentor junior staff members on tax-related matters.


Qualifications

  • Active EA or CPA certification.
  • Must have strong Excel skills.
  • Must have bookkeeping experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in tax preparation and consulting.
  • Proficiency with tax software such as Drake, ProSeries, Lacerte, or similar.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Pacific time zone is a plus.


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, math, finance, or economics is highly preferred.

Experience

  • 5+ years experience in public accounting or finance, managing accounting and financial operations.
  • Significant experience with QuickBooks Online and experience adapting to new processes and software very quickly.

The pay range for this role is:

30 - 35 USD per hour (Remote)
