About the role

As a Tax Preparer, you will prepare complex federal and state returns for individuals, businesses, trusts, estates, and nonprofits. You’ll work with multi-entity structures, multi-state filings, and large partnerships, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a seamless client experience.


What you'll do

  • Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals, small to mid-sized businesses, trusts, estates, and nonprofits.
  • Handle challenging returns including multi-entity structures, multi-state filings, and large partnership returns.
  • Calculate estimated tax vouchers.
  • Perform initial data checks and flag potential issues for senior review.
  • Review and organize client documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience preparing individual and business tax returns
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Familiarity with professional tax software (CCH Axcess and/or Drake preferred)
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with QuickBooks Online
  • CPA license or EA certification a plus but not required

The pay range for this role is:

70,000 - 80,000 USD per year (Remote)
