About the role

As a Senior Tax Preparer at Uplinq, you will lead the preparation and review of complex federal and state tax returns for a diverse range of clients, including individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates and nonprofits. You’ll work closely with leadership, mentor junior staff, and help improve tax processes. This role is great for a seasoned tax pro who enjoys a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment.


What you'll do

  • Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates and nonprofits.
  • Conduct tax research and planning to identify opportunities that minimize client tax liabilities.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement internal tax policies, quality control procedures, and ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate with bookkeeping and accounting teams to ensure alignment of financial data used in tax returns.
  • Review financial records, income statements, and supporting documents to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current tax laws and regulations.
  • Review junior staff work and provide mentorship on complex tax matters.

Qualifications

  • Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification.
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field; Master’s in Tax preferred
  • 6+ years of experience in tax preparation and review.
  • Proficient with tax software such as CCH Axcess, Drake, Lacerte, or ProSeries
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with QuickBooks Online
  • Solid bookkeeping and financial statement understanding

The pay range for this role is:

85,000 - 95,000 USD per year (Remote (United States))
