Position Summary

As a Solutions Engineer at Uplynk, you will play a key role in helping prospects and customers architect robust, scalable, and cost-effective video workflows. You will be a trusted advisor to our sales team and media clients, translating complex technical requirements into actionable, end-to-end streaming solutions — particularly across Live Event workflows, Server-Side Ad Insertion (SSAI), Syndication models, and SCTE-based signaling and ad triggers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Sales Directors to scope opportunities, understand customer needs, and recommend strategic solutions.
  • Architect and communicate scalable workflows for Live Events, 24/7 linear, and VOD — integrating Uplynk with external systems like Zixi, SRT, AMPP, CMS, and ad platforms
  • Design and present detailed solutions for SSAI, SCTE-35/104 ad signaling, and syndication workflows across platforms and distribution partners.
  • Deliver compelling demos and proofs-of-concept that articulate Uplynk’s differentiated value in real-world use cases.
  • Guide prospects through technical evaluations and onboarding, working cross-functionally with product, support, and implementation teams.
  • Respond to RFPs and develop technical documentation including architecture diagrams, compliance narratives, and deployment plans.
  • Stay current on emerging media standards, delivery formats (CMAF, HLS, DASH), and cloud-based production models.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role (Solutions Engineer, Media Architect, Pre-Sales Engineer) within broadcast, streaming, or cloud video platforms.
  • Extensive knowledge of Live Event workflows, SSAI, syndication strategies, and SCTE-35/104 signal processing.
  • Proficiency in video delivery protocols and architecture (e.g., HLS, DASH, RTMP, Zixi, SRT).
  • Familiarity with DRM, CDN architectures, adaptive bitrate (ABR) encoding, and OTT application ecosystems.
  • Strong presentation skills — able to simplify complex topics for both technical and executive audiences.
  • Proficient with tools such as Lucidchart, Wireshark, or AWS Media Services.
  • Bonus: Experience working with ad decisioning platforms (Freewheel, Google Ad Manager), broadcast control rooms, or third-party contribution/production solutions like Grass Valley AMPP
