Position Summary
The Principal Sales Manager will lead sales efforts for video streaming technology and solutions, targeting media and entertainment (M&E) customers. This role requires a strategic leader with deep M&E industry expertise, a proven track record in B2B sales, and the ability to drive revenue growth by delivering tailored streaming solutions to high-profile clients. This role is ideal for a dynamic sales leader passionate about driving innovation in video streaming for the media and entertainment industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to drive adoption of video streaming technologies among M&E clients, including broadcasters, studios, OTT platforms, and content providers.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with C-level executives and key decision-makers, acting as a trusted advisor to address their technical and business needs.
- Revenue Growth: Achieve and exceed sales targets by identifying new business opportunities, upselling, and cross-selling solutions to existing clients.
- Solution Selling: Collaborate with product, engineering, and marketing teams to customize video streaming solutions (e.g., encoding, transcoding, DRM, SSAI, CDN, analytics) that align with client requirements for live streaming, VOD, and interactive media.
- Market Insights: Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies (e.g., low-latency streaming, 5G, AI-driven personalization) to position the company as a market leader.
- Pipeline Management: Manage the end-to-end sales process, from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing, using CRM tools to track progress and forecast accurately.
- Thought Leadership: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and webinars, showcasing expertise in video streaming and media solutions.
- Team Collaboration: Mentor junior sales team members and work cross-functionally to ensure seamless delivery and customer satisfaction.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Technology, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 8+ years of B2B sales experience in video streaming, cloud media solutions, or related technology, with a focus on media and entertainment.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding multi-million-dollar sales quotas.
- Deep understanding of video streaming technologies (e.g., HLS, DASH, WebRTC, QoS/QoE metrics) and media workflows (e.g., content ingestion, transcoding, delivery).
- Strong network of contacts within the media and entertainment industry.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical solutions into business value for non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and sales analytics tools.
- Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events.
- Experience with SaaS or PaaS sales in the media technology space.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in media (e.g., content rights, GDPR, piracy prevention).
- Familiarity with adjacent technologies like AR/VR, gaming, or immersive media.
Pay Range: Base + Commission
