PRN Nurse Practitioner

Urgent Care for Children is seeking PRN Family and Pediatric Nurse Practitioners to join our talented, compassionate pediatric team. Essential Functions:
Our Nurse Practitioner is a primary member of the health team who provides medical and educational services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician, according to Nurse Practitioner Protocol, and within the scope of the Nurse Practitioner License.
This individual works within a cooperative department, utilizing team effort with health care providers, co-workers, and the public to provide positive patient interaction.
In this role, the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is involved in a variety of cases that are customary to an Urgent Care setting. Provide pediatric care to patients from infant to the age of 21 and their families.

Qualifications:

• Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited nursing program
• Active RN and NP licensure in AL and board certification as a NP in Pediatric Acute Care, Pediatric Primary Care, or Family Care
• 2+ years of experience providing care as a nurse practitioner preferred
• Strong acute care clinical background preferred but not required
• Ability to manage varied activities in a fast-paced urgent care environment
• Provide evidence-based quality care
• Comfortable with technology [i.e. EMR, Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)]
• Strong relationship-building skills and ability to work in a team setting
• Ability to communicate effectively, in verbal and written form, with medical partners at various levels, patients, and family members

Hours of Operation:
Clinic Hours of Operation:

• Monday – Friday 10 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
• Saturday and Sunday 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  (Clinic hours subject to change based on company needs, training, etc.)

PRN Scheduling Expectations:

• Weekday Coverage: We have a strong need for weekday coverage, so flexibility and availability during weekdays are crucial
• Flexibility: Must be willing to travel to other nearby clinics as needed
• Scheduling is dependent upon your availability, but flexibility is essential for coverage needs

Headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, Urgent Care for Children began serving patients ages zero to 21 in 2017. Currently, we have eight clinics across Alabama. Our centers strive to provide evidence-based quality care and are accredited through the Urgent Care Association (UCA). We employ a robust pediatrician follow-up model, in which primary care practitioners are provided with information about their patient’s urgent care visit in a very timely manner.
