About the role


Working closely with our Controller, this role will support department managers with data

analysis and accounting functions, such as preparing reports, performing strategic analysis, and

developing dashboards. We are looking for someone with strong analytical skills, accounting &

finance knowledge, experience with SQL and advanced Excel, and an understanding of

marketplace business operations.



What you'll do


Reporting and Financial Analysis

  • Prepare periodic and ad hoc reports for stakeholders, providing weekly and monthly financial reports to the executive team
  • Conduct financial analysis, identify key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide insights based on industry benchmarks
  • Maintain an accurate record of financial as well as non-financial transactions
  • Reconcile all monthly statements, invoices, and approvals into accounting software, ensuring accurate documentation
  • Prepare and review expenses (e.g. credit card transactions) and develop reconciliation process and reporting
  • Act as a liaison for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, facilitating smooth communication and transaction processing

Data Management & Dashboards

  • Aggregate, clean, and integrate data, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards using tools like Tableau or Power BI
  • Continuously improve dashboards based on user feedback

Collaboration & Communication

  • Present data insights and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand data needs and provide analytical support

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Continuously improve data collection and reporting processes
  • Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations, and maintain comprehensive documentation
  • Stay updated with the latest tools and recommend improvements to enhance data analysis capabilities


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (Accounting/Finance diploma) preferred
  • Candidates pursuing the CPA preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive full-cycle accounting and reporting experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in data analysis, financial analysis preferred
  • Accounting software experience (NetSuite, Sage, QuickBooks)
  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python is an asset
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI)
  • Knowledge of database design and management
  • Experience creating charts, graphs, and dashboards, with the ability to automate reporting processes
  • Experience applying statistical analysis to interpret data trends and patterns, as well as in benchmarking and performance analysis
  • Ability to identify, define, and track KPI’s
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to troubleshoot data-related issues to find effective solutions
  • Experience presenting data insights clearly and concisely to stakeholders, with the ability to create visually appealing and informative presentations
  • Ability to translate technical findings into actionable insights and clearly communicate findings to stakeholders in an understandable way
  • High level of accuracy in data handling, with a strong focus on data quality and integrity
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide analytical support and insights to different departments
