Our materials and technologies are required for the electric vehicle, green energy, consumer electronics, and defense industries, and our battery grade lithium and tech metals are needed for chipsets, semiconductors, and 5G. 


We have a substantial interest in the Round Top, Heavy Rare Earth, Lithium and Critical Minerals deposit in West Texas. We have also developed the United States’ first rare earth and critical minerals processing facility and we own the only scalable, sintered neo-magnet manufacturing system in the Western Hemisphere. By developing this fully integrated, US-based “mine-to-magnet” critical mineral supply chain, we are poised to become the leading domestic supplier to these industries.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Mechanical Engineer to join our team in a high-tech manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and maintaining mechanical systems and equipment that drive our advanced manufacturing processes. This role combines technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience to support the development, optimization, and maintenance of state-of-the-art machinery and production systems. 

The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and operations, to ensure efficient, reliable, and safe operation of equipment and processes. The role requires experience in mechanical design, system analysis, and manufacturing processes, with a focus on continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence. 

 Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Analysis: Design, develop, and analyze mechanical components and systems to support advanced manufacturing processes and production goals. 
  • Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot mechanical systems and machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. 
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement mechanical solutions that enhance efficiency, productivity, and reliability. 
  • Collaboration: Work with electrical, control, and process engineers to integrate mechanical designs with automation and instrumentation systems. 
  • Testing and Validation: Plan and execute testing protocols to validate system performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary. 
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that all designs and systems comply with safety standards and operational best practices. 
  • Vendor Coordination: Work with suppliers and contractors to procure mechanical components, oversee installation, and ensure integration with manufacturing systems. 
  • Documentation: Prepare technical drawings, schematics, and documentation to support manufacturing, maintenance, and project planning efforts. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Apply lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize equipment performance and reduce waste. 

Knowledge, Skills & ​​Abilities

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA), finite element analysis (FEA), and other mechanical design tools. 
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience troubleshooting mechanical systems. 
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with high-volume production environments and advanced manufacturing technologies. 
  • Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. 
  • Standards Compliance: Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations related to mechanical systems and manufacturing processes. 
  • Project Management: Experience managing projects or components of projects, including timelines, budgets, and technical requirements. 

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related technical discipline. 
  • Experience: Proven experience (3–5 years) in electrical engineering, instrumentation, or automation, preferably within a high-tech manufacturing environment.
