THE ROLE

Mission

We are looking for an experienced Analytics Engineer with a passion for bringing meaning and understanding out of raw and semi-structured data. This role will have you owning the data architecture and pipelines to empower the rest of the organization to understand and analyze business performance with confidence. 

Responsibilities

• Own the design and development of Origin’s data architecture, transforming raw data into trusted, scalable pipelines.
• Build and maintain well-structured data models using dbt, Airflow, and other tools in our modern data stack.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering during product development to define event tracking and instrumentation standards.
• Ensure the analytics foundation is robust and future-proof by building immutable, incremental pipelines that power data science, reporting, and experimentation.
• Establish best practices for data governance, reliability, and performance across all pipelines and datasets.
• Serve as a strategic thought partner in scaling our data ecosystem as Origin grows.

Must Have

• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Familiarity with GitHub, dbt, Airflow, Redshift, or equivalent systems
• Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of data modeling principles and architecture best practices.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering, product, and analytics teams.
• You can work efficiently remotely during an 8-hour day shift while ensuring overlap with our core hours (9 AM to 2 PM PT).
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is crucial for clear and effective communication within our global team

Nice to Have

• Experience maintaining data infrastructure in AWS (Terraform)
• Experience normalizing information with a variety of data sources like backend databases, front-end tracking systems, and third-party applications to build single-source-of-truth analytic data assets.
