Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Proposal Manager to join our dynamic team. The Proposal Manager will play a pivotal role in our business development efforts, focusing on securing lucrative government contracts. This position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional organizational abilities and a thorough understanding of the government contracting process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proposal Development: Lead the development and submission of high-quality proposals in response to government solicitations (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, etc.).
- Strategy Development: Collaborate with executive leadership and subject matter experts to develop winning strategies for each proposal, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company capabilities.
- Project Management: Coordinate and manage proposal timelines, tasks, and resources to ensure deadlines are met and submissions are compliant.
- Content Creation: Write and edit proposal content, ensuring clarity, compliance, and persuasive messaging tailored to government agencies.
- Review and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of proposal drafts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with solicitation requirements.
- Proposal Process Improvement: Continuously refine proposal processes and templates to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, subcontractors, and partners involved in proposal efforts.
- Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, government policies, and competitive landscape to inform proposal strategies and positioning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in proposal management, specifically within the government contracting space.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state procurement processes, including FAR regulations.
- Strong understanding of technical and cost proposal development.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent proposals under tight deadlines.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with proposal management software (e.g., GovWin, Shipley Associates).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with DOD contracts.
- Professional certifications such as APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals) or PMP (Project Management Professional).
- Experience in a leadership role within proposal teams.
