About The Role:
Valmar Holdings is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team in developing, optimizing, and scaling our TotalityLMS SaaS solution. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong architectural thinking, and a collaborative mindset to deliver high-impact software systems that support our growing customer base.
What You'll Do:
- Application Development & Architecture: Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure software applications aligned with business needs and platform architecture.
- Code Quality & Best Practices: Write clean, maintainable code and enforce high standards through testing, documentation, and peer reviews.
- CI/CD & Automation: Contribute to automated build, test, and deployment workflows using CI/CD pipelines to accelerate feature delivery.
- Cloud Engineering: Develop and deploy cloud-native services using AWS technologies such as Lambda, RDS, ECS/EKS, and S3 to ensure system scalability and reliability.
- Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across application layers, optimizing code and database queries for speed and efficiency.
- Security & Compliance: Implement secure coding practices and ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards through code reviews and audits.
- Collaboration & Agile Development: Work cross-functionally with product, QA, and DevOps teams while actively participating in Agile ceremonies and workflows.
- Mentorship & Technical Leadership: Guide junior engineers through technical mentorship, code reviews, and design collaboration to foster team growth.
- Monitoring & Observability: Implement observability best practices through monitoring, logging, and alerting to maintain application health and service-level objectives.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack or backend software engineering.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as PHP, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, or similar.
- Deep understanding of API design, database modeling (SQL/NoSQL), and system integration.
- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS (EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, etc.).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline).
- Proficiency in agile development methodologies and cross-functional teamwork.
- Familiarity with AI-generated tooling and workflows (e.g., Co-pilot, Cursor) is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior work in fintech, SaaS, or highly regulated industries.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS).
- Exposure to infrastructure automation (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Knowledge of observability tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, or Prometheus.
