• Lead and execute computational modeling and simulation activities to support early concepts, design assessment, verification, and post-market evaluations
• Develop, implement, and maintain simulation procedures, rules, and guidelines governing the use of computational modeling throughout product development
• Perform finite element and other computational analyses aligned with ASME V&V40 and FDA guidance, including clear technical reporting
• Partner closely with the Biomechanics Testing Team to ensure simulation and physical testing alignment, including model validation
• Support rapid design iterations by interfacing directly with R&D teams to evaluate design features and components using simulation
• Manage multiple simulation projects concurrently while meeting established timelines
• Identify and implement simulation strategies that advance biomechanical understanding of VB Spine medical devices
• Author and contribute to technical documentation supporting design verification, worst-case determination, regulatory submissions, and marketing claims
• Create and maintain a simulation knowledge library to capture learnings and enable reuse across programs
• Stay current on emerging computational modeling technologies and simulation methodologies
• Establish credibility as a technical thought leader in medical device simulation and biomechanical evaluation
• Obtain and maintain industry-recognized credentials and demonstrate continuous professional development
What You Bring:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
• 4+ years of hands-on experience developing and executing computational simulations; medical device experience preferred
• 4+ years of experience with CAE tools (ANSYS preferred)
• Working knowledge and application of ASME V&V40 and FDA guidance related to computational modeling
• Understanding of Quality System Regulations (QSR) and design control principles
• Strong technical writing and communication skills with the ability to explain complex analyses clearly
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively
