Are you a complex spine expert who thrives in the operating room and enjoys being at the forefront of advanced surgical innovation? At VB Spine, our Senior Specialist, Complex Spine (CSU) plays a critical, high-impact role supporting surgeons and sales teams through advanced clinical training, technical expertise, and hands-on case support. This is a “tip-of-the-spear” position for someone who wants to influence top-line growth, build long-term surgeon partnerships, and help expand the adoption of cutting-edge complex spine, MIS, and lateral technologies.

As a Senior Specialist, you will serve as a trusted clinical authority, educator, and field partner, helping drive successful surgeon learning curves while strengthening VB Spine’s reputation as an innovator in complex spinal care.


What You’ll Do: 

  • Serve as the clinical and technical expert for complex spine, MIS, and lateral systems, supporting surgeons and sales teams in the operating room and classroom
  • Provide hands-on case support for learning-curve and advanced procedures
  • Develop and execute surgeon targeting and growth plans in partnership with Sales, Market Development, and Strategic Accounts
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key HCPs through education, demonstrations, and clinical collaboration
  • Deliver field-based training for surgeons and sales representatives in coordination with Medical Education and Sales Training
  • Support new technology launches and contribute clinical insights to product development and design
  • Represent VB Spine at corporate education programs and key industry meetings
  • Provide detailed reporting and feedback on case coverage, field utilization, and clinical needs
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless communication, inventory readiness, and continuous improvement
  • Support adoption of enabling technologies and biologics as part of comprehensive procedural solutions


What You Bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent clinical/technical training
  • 8+ years of experience in spine, orthopedics, neurosurgery, or related clinical/medical device fields
  • Deep expertise in complex spinal anatomy and advanced surgical approaches (open, MIS, lateral)
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and credibly with surgeons and senior sales leaders
  • Strong teaching and presentation skills with the ability to train in both classroom and OR settings
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven with the ability to manage a heavy travel schedule
  • Self-directed with the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional customer service mindset and relationship-building skills
  • Comfort working in high-acuity operating room environments and supporting complex procedures
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs of surgical equipment and meet the physical demands of OR and travel environments
  • Willingness to travel up to 80% to support cases, training, and surgeon development nationwide

Compensation: 
Pay for this role is competitive and based on experience, with additional factors like territory requirements, qualifications, and performance taken into account. The typical pay range for this position is $190,000 – $240,000 annually, with potential for bonuses and incentives plus benefits. 

VB Spine reserves the right to offer compensation outside of this listed range. Final compensation is determined on a case-by-case basis and considers a variety of factors including experience level, skillset, and market conditions.
