About the role

We are looking for a Quality Control Associate to join us within the firm’s Vcheck Intelligence (VI) unit. VI is a team of multi-lingual investigators and analysts who conduct deep-dive investigative due diligence research utilizing public records and human source intelligence. We are seeking an experienced investigative professional with experience in reviewing and editing reports. This position would be a full-time reviewer, with a focus on open source report review. Key job duties would be helping to ensure accuracy, thoroughness, and stylistic consistency of VI reports.

What you'll do

  • Review of Open Source VI Reports
    • Thorough review of Level 1 and Premier reports to ensure maintenance of internal quality standards and client expectations.
    • Read reports, looking for typos, issues with formatting, organization, and other editorial mistakes.
    • Conduct spot-checks on reports, including but not limited to litigation checks, media checks, professional history confirmation, education verification, licensing information, PEP/Sanctions hits, regulatory issues.
    • Provide feedback on writeups in the report to help researchers better meet the needs and expectations of the client.
    • Provide clear, consistent, and professional feedback to the research team to meet quality expectations and help the team improve their work.
    • Communicate with the research team to help them best address feedback regarding errors, discrepancies, or other issues during the research process.
  • Serve as a Research and Writing Resource for the Team
    • Answer questions before the review process to help researchers solve problems before they get to review.
    • Assist new researchers with navigating the learning curve of VI work, including helping with VI-appropriate language, providing research tips, and giving guidance on how to approach challenging research situations.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert on industry best practices and standards.
  • Communicate with Senior Management about Team Performance
    • Provide feedback to managers about the performance and progress of direct reports.
    • Fill out scorecards for each subject giving feedback and logging errors.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 2-3 years experience in open-source investigations in one or more of the following fields: pre-investment due diligence, third-party compliance, KYC, risk advisory, etc.
  • At least one year of experience doing full-time content review/QC.
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in International Relations/Affairs, Political Science, Regional Studies, Journalism, Criminal Justice, Law, Business or other related areas of study
  • Relevant license/certification such as CFE or CAMS.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong familiarity with diligence databases such as TLO, Westlaw, and Rzolut.
  • Ability to conduct media searches and quickly read and comprehend large volumes of media hits.
  • Experience reading and analyzing court documents, including complaints, settlement documents, and judgments.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage dozens of assigned reports at a time.
  • Excellent communication and people management skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and editing skills.
  • Though this position is 100% remote, candidates are required to work in the United States.
