About the role

Our Account Manager is the foundational piece between Velocity and our external partners. While we value relevant experience, we are particularly interested in outgoing, driven candidates who demonstrate strong follow-through. In this role, you will execute the distribution strategy for one of Velocity Risk products. This includes vetting, appointing, training and managing the distribution force for this product. You will be the face of one of our products while focusing on building and developing relationships with key partners. You will also balance the needs and goals of Velocity with the care and support of our Brokers and Agents. 
You will be the source of communication between us and everything our partners need to be successful in the market, from product insight and education to monitoring performance and holding our partners accountable. This will require travel and large amounts of time spent in the market to build and grow foundational relationships and driving effective connections and communication.

What you'll do

  • The core responsibilities of this role are…
    • Responsible for marketing directly to our producers and understanding the marketplace and how to create success within the landscape.
      • Actively traveling (60-75%) to understand the market conditions: competition, needs within the space, identifying new business and building advantageous relationships
    • Responsible for Producer Management driving performance from the distribution channels (i.e. plan vs actual GWP, profitability, quote levels, etc.).
      • This includes broker account escalations, vetting potentials, onboarding new producers, monitoring metrics, meeting with the teams, building relationships, managing up or out, goal setting for profitability, and holding producers accountable
    • External communication with support from marketing for alignment
    • This includes general commercial marketing campaigns, but also ad hoc 
    • Maintaining information in the system of record for all meetings and business ventures.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated Experience for success in this role…
    • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Marketing, Business, or a related field is preferred.
    • Experience: Open to 0- 3 years of experience in an Account Management or Outside Sales role. Experience in the insurance industry, especially in commercial lines, is advantageous.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency with CRM/CSM tools is required.

This position is remote but needs to be available to report to either of our Nashville, Birmingham, Chicago, or Atlanta locations.
