The Opportunity

It's an exciting time to join Verra! Our organization is growing rapidly. As we continue to focus on growth and transformation, we are looking for a results-driven Director, Human Resources Operations to serve as a key business partner and leader to build trusting relationships with stakeholders, team members, and staff across our organization. This position is a key member of the Human Resources team, playing a critical role in providing exemplary HR experience for Verrans and ensuring compliance with state employment laws and internal policies. On a tactical level, you will oversee HR operations, ensuring smooth procedures, and supervising the HR department’s day-to-day administrative tasks. On a tactical level, you will oversee our HR Operations, supervising a small team of HR professionals and strategizing to ensure we meet our project deadlines.

A day in the life may include, budget planning, implementing HR policies, supporting managers and leaders with performance or employee relations questions or issues, overseeing personnel policies, compliance audits and updates, benefits administration, and developing staff. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an alignment with our culture, values and mission. This role is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on Verra’s future.

The Role
  • Ensure people related policies and HR guidance is available on the intranet and updated as needed, so that employees can reference this information from anywhere in the world they may be located.
  • Audit our internal processes and assist with any needed updates to the employee handbook. 
  • Prepares reports and identifies trends in employee related issues, turnover and performance trends and provides solutions to HR leadership. 
  • Supports CHRO to design and execute human resources policies and procedures for improving employee experiences at Verra and the efficiency of HR department and resources.
  • Ensure compliance with local and national regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and procedures when necessary.
  • Manages Sr. International HR Manager and Learning and Development team. 
  • Collaborates with the Sr. International HR Manager in the administration of the US benefits programs, including annual open enrollment, rate renewal negotiations and vendor relationships.
  • Provides counsel and support to managers on issues of organizational policy application.
  • Investigates, counsels and assists in resolving employee relations matters. Conducts ER investigations, analyzes organizational health issues.
  • Designs and supports our global diversity and inclusion efforts.
  • Provide guidance on employment related issues (such as ADA, FMLA, FLSA, harassment, discrimination, diversity, corrective action and progressive discipline) to operations leadership.
  • Serves as a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion throughout our organization, ensuring a fair, integrity driven, consistent approach.
  • Supports other projects as needed.
What we’d like to see.
  • Professional Experience- 10+ years proven success working/leading a global HR department with at least five years managing others in HR.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field of study. Advanced degree a plus.
  • SHRM-SCP certification or equivalent ideal.
  • Systems Experience- Proficiency in using HRIS and other HR systems (e.g. Rippling, Talent ATS, Litmos, PerformYard or similar).
  • Expertise- Deep understanding and knowledge of HR functions and compliance with laws that govern non-profits, knowledge of employee relations and employee development.
  • Accountability- resilient, responsible and accountable for results.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication with strong proficiency in English. Secondary language skills are a bonus.
  • Analytical Skills- Ability to apply critical thinking skills to solve complex challenges.
  • Attention to Detail- meticulous in quality of work, detail oriented and thorough.
  • Coaching and Development- highly knowledgeable of U.S. federal and state employment regulations. Ability to provide guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas within remote teams.
  • Confidentiality - Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive company information. Ability to use discretion when conversing with individuals both internally and externally.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a win-win cooperative perspective. Ability to work well at all levels and communicate effectively regarding sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Decision Making - Ability to apply sound judgment in all matters.
  • Engagement- Demonstrates strong engagement with all team members including diversity of ideas and thoughts and respectful cultural sensitivity. Ambassador for remote connections around the globe with department leaders.

  • Self-Starter Approach- Ability to proactively manage time and work within a remote setting to achieve milestones and be available during core hours for team collaboration. Ability to work remotely with a private, adequate set up and strong, reliable access to WIFI.

For this position, the salary range is between $140,000 - $160,000 USD. The compensation band is based on a U.S. base salary range and shares the min and max base salary for the position. This position is eligible for remote work. 

The final compensation offered will be contingent upon role, level, and location. Our Talent team can share the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Salary is one component of Verra’s total compensation package which also includes:
