As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Senior Program Officer to assist in advancing state-of-the-art digitalized carbon methodologies and tools for measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) with a specific focus on energy and industrial climate solutions. Our commitment to integrity, collaboration, and measurable impact sets us apart in the nonprofit sector. The Role.

 

The Senior Program Officer, Technology Solutions will be a key driver in advancing our organization’s digitalization initiatives by providing support to methodology developers, software engineers and other Verra staff in a constructive and solutions-oriented way on digitalization of existing or new methodologies and Digital MRV tools within the domain of energy and industry domain. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strategic thinking, a commitment to sustainable development, possess a creative mindset, and showcase a proven track record in supporting the development and execution of effective digital tools. 

 

We are seeking a dynamic individual with strong interpersonal skills and experience to work on challenges and opportunities faced by practitioners of activities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve livelihoods utilizing technology in the energy and industrial domain by building their understanding of how technology can be used to streamline carbon credit project development.

  

This position demands a thorough understanding of carbon quantification tools and methodologies to support the digitalization and involves verifying and validating digital methodologies and supporting users of the digital methodologies by creating appropriate guidance documents.

Concept and Feasibility Review - In this crucial role, you are the guardian of integrity of the digital methodologies. You delve deep into concept notes and proposed methodologies, ensuring their theoretical soundness. But you don't stop there. Your keen eye scrutinizes their practical potential, verifying the feasibility of digital implementation. As a trusted member of the Innovations Team, your expertise shines brightest when colleagues seek your counsel on technical matters related to digital methodologies. Keeping your finger on the pulse of cutting-edge technologies, you bridge the gap between innovation and practical application.

 

Precision Architect and Validation Champion - You meticulously craft specifications for digitalization, weaving intricate plans that transform ideas into reality. Rigorous testing ensures these methodologies deliver on their promise. Your dedication extends beyond individual methodologies; you are the architect of seamless integration. You work tirelessly to ensure digital methodologies flawlessly connect with Digital MRVs and the Registry, creating a robust and interconnected system.

 

Business Analyst and Innovation Evangelist- Beyond technical mastery, you wear the hat of a Business Analyst. You champion the adoption of digital solutions, identifying areas where technology can streamline and empower. You are the voice of progress, advocating for technological integration in new methodologies and monitoring approaches. By fostering a culture of innovation, you drive the organization towards a future of efficiency, accuracy, and sustainability.


What we’d like to see.

 

  • A technical degree, preferably a master’s, in a relevant field such as engineering, environmental science, or similar.
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably working for a standards organization, NGO, government, consultancy, project developer, and/or an auditor with focus on implementation of energy or industrial domain.
  • Experience in GHG accounting and methodologies for energy and industrial projects.
  • A high level of computer literacy and experience working on models and digital tools such as Excel, SPSS, GIS, etc.
  • Good project management and organizational skills, including prioritizing and working efficiently and effectively under deadlines.
  • Cultural awareness with the ability to work with stakeholders and partners from different countries and cultures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English is essential. Fluency in other languages would be an additional asset.

 

Compensation at Verra

 

To help us attract and retain top talent, we pay employees competitively to the market. In return, we expect each employee to, at a minimum:

For this position, the salary range is $68,000 – 121,900. The compensation band is based on a U.S. base salary range and shares the min and max base salary for the position. This position is eligible for remote work.

The final compensation offered will be contingent upon role, level and location. Our Talent team can share the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process

 

We will recognize employees who go beyond expected performance with salary increases and/or promotions, but the bar for earning those rewards is high.

 

Salary is one component of Verra’s total compensation package which also includes:
