The Opportunity. 

 

With the rapid evolution of global carbon markets and growing engagement areas and opportunities, Verra is seeking a passionate and proactive Program Officer, Event Communications and Administration to join its dynamic Events team. This role is essential in supporting the Events team with high-quality event administration at public-facing engagements, leading communications at Verra, and providing executive support for event engagement, while also contributing to broader organizational initiatives.

 

The Role.

 

As the Program Officer, Events Communications and Administration you will be responsible for:

 

Event Communications Management

  • Proactively lead communications around Verra’s engagement at external events. Including, but not limited to:
  • Handling all content for social media posts, event website entries and news announcements for events.
  • Manage inventory and print requirements for communication materials for major events in collaboration with Marketing Team.
  • Manage ongoing internal communication about Events with updates and key information on the intranet to enhance alignment and collaboration.
  • Ensure proper use of Verra trademarks in Event contexts.

Executive Support for Event Participation:

  • Serve as the primary contact for CEO briefing notes related to bilateral meetings.
  • Coordinate recommendations for bilateral meetings for CEO during major events and collaborate on logistics with Executive Support.
  • Prepare comprehensive briefing materials for the CEO for public-facing engagements.

Operational and Administrative Excellence

  • Manage administrative tasks, including maintaining records and event tracker, and tracking projected expenses for events on a daily basis.
  • Process invoices and payments, and support staff receiving funding for event participation.
  • Manage contracts, speaker agreements, nomination letters and other documents throughout the finalization process and legal clearance.
  • Collate quarterly statistics for Event progress reports.
  • Support event logistics for major event and large delegations, including participant’s registrations, accommodation, transport and meeting venues.

What we’d like to see

 

      A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional work experience, particularly in communications/marketing and/or events management, as well as an understanding of key administrative duties required to fulfil this role. Work experience in carbon markets, climate change, and/or sustainable development is a strong asset. 

      BSc/BA in Communications, Marketing, Event Management or Administration, or related field. Work experience will be considered in lieu of educational experience.

      Proven ability to manage end-to-end event planning and execution of events, including webinars, stakeholder meetings, and in-person events, with a focus on detail and quality.

      Comfort with digital tools and platforms used for virtual event management (e.g., Zoom, Teams, or similar), as well as MS Office, and the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.

      Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling messages, draft executive briefings, and interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

      Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

      A team player who thrives in a collaborative setting and can build relationships across departments and with external stakeholders.

      A proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate challenges, propose solutions, and pivot as needed to meet organizational goals.

      As a global organization based in the US, we’ve adopted English as a standard business language for written and verbal communication. Fluency in other languages would be an advantage.

The final compensation offered will be contingent upon role, level and location. Our Talent team can share the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. For this position, the salary range is between$50,000 - $70,000 USD. The compensation band is based on a U.S. base salary range and shares the min and max base salary for the position.

Salary is one component of Verra’s total compensation package which also includes:

  • Health, vision and dental care, and life insurance
  • Verra contributions to each employee’s retirement plan
  • Verra contributions as required by national labor laws in countries where staff are located
  • Paid Time Off (PTO), comprising 22-30 days plus eleven floating holidays, sabbatical after five years of service, and other leave allowances
