IT Operations Specialist (contract)

Location: Ireland (remote)

Shift: Rotating Shift Pattern (details to be discussed)


About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Operations Specialist to join our dynamic team in Dundalk. In this role, you will be working as part of a global IT Operations team. As part of the team, you are responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and smooth operation of Vesta’s services. You will work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to maintain service stability.


Responsibilities:

  • Monitor applications, infrastructure and networks, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Create and respond to incidents and service requests, escalating as needed and providing timely resolution.
  • Utilize monitoring tools to analyze system performance and identify trends.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex issues and implement changes.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Vesta’s Partners to help identify and resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of knowledge articles, processes, and procedures.
  • Identify and aid in the Implementation of automation to streamline operational tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices.


Qualifications:

Essential

  • Proven experience in an IT Operations role, preferably in a 24/7 environment.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
  • Proficiency in using monitoring tools such as Splunk.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and resolving issues in complex IT environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., Proxmox, VMware).
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Experience with APIs (SOAP and REST).
  • Understanding of file transfer protocols and technologies.
