Insight Veterinary Wellness Center is seeking an experienced Emergency DVM to join our hospital on a maternity cover basis. Your Role

As an Emergency DVM, you’ll play a key role in delivering outstanding care to urgent and critical patients while providing reassurance and clarity to pet owners during stressful moments.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Emergency consultations (outpatient and inpatient)
• Critical and emergency care management
• Diagnostic workups and treatment planning
• Surgical and procedural interventions
• Inpatient case management and continuity of care
• Clear and compassionate client communication

Typical Caseload

• 4–8 outpatient ER consultations per shift
• 2–8 inpatient cases under your care

Clinical Focus Areas

• Small animal emergency medicine
• Critical care
• Soft tissue and emergency surgery
• Advanced diagnostics

You’ll be supported by experienced RVTs, veterinary assistants, and a cohesive nursing team — ensuring you can focus on medicine while maintaining excellent patient flow and care standards.

About You

You’re a confident, capable clinician who remains calm under pressure and values collaboration.

We’re looking for:

• DVM (or equivalent) licensed or eligible to practice in California
• Minimum 4 years of clinical experience
• Ideally 1–2 years in an ER or urgent care setting
• Strong diagnostic and surgical decision-making skills
• Excellent teamwork and client communication
• A positive, solutions-focused mindset

• Competitive salary - $225 - $250k base
• ER bonus / incentive structure
