Position Description
The Security Officer is primarily responsible to perform protective service work such as
guarding DOE/NETL buildings and property, protecting DOE/NETL equipment and
material, and controlling access to DOE/NETL installations by employees, visitors, and
other contractors. The Security Officer will respond to emergencies, enforce DOE/NETL
regulations, and conduct crowd, parking, and traffic control, inspections, and perimeter
and internal access control. is primarily responsible to ensure that contractual obligations
are met during respective shifts.

Education and/or Experience
Requirements for Security Officers include a high school diploma or GED, and
compliance with all applicable state and local qualification and licensing requirements
prior to coming on duty and maintained throughout employment at NETL.
