Not familiar with trade promotion spend?  That’s OK.  Most people aren’t.  It’s an $8 trillion dollar problem that is ripe for disruption by an innovative SaaS startup.  In order to grow, consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands spend 20% of their topline revenue to get into retailers and promote their products within those retailers.  The problem is that today 70% of those promotions are not ROI positive. This is because ROI is hard to track.  The industry operates on emails, pdfs, and xls spreadsheets. At Vividly, we’re solving this massive problem with exciting tactics including AI, Machine Learning, and Fintech and adding value to everyone in the chain. Some of our customers include brands you may use and love - Liquid Death, Amy’s, and Laird Superfoods.

We are looking for a Trade Success Specialist to help us reach our goals! 

Who You Are

You are a self-starter, CPG promotion management expert. You understand how to structure promotions, key areas to be aware of to ensure promotions are accurate and you are constantly looking for ways to streamline workflows. The primary function of this role is to ensure promotions are entered into Vividly in an accurate and timely manner, and updates are also made in accurate and timely intervals to meet our SLAs. The exciting and unique aspect of this role is the focus on automation. You will explore tools and platforms to streamline and automate the promotion entry service. We are currently using AI tools but this is essentially ‘greenfield’ for you to build cool tech to help us automate and streamline as much as possible!


The key responsibilities & impact this role will have:

  • Support ongoing maintenance of Vividly Clients’ trade promotion calendars and master price list
  • Collaborate with our brands’ sales teams to gather customer contracts & agreements
  • Update promotion event details accurately and in a timely manner
  • Validate necessary master data exists to support promotion creation; customers, products, pricing
  • Recommend, track, and enforce effective trade promotion policies and procedures
  • Respond to inquiries regarding promotions and changes
  • Manage and review work performed by our deduction management service to ensure promotions are entered accurately to tie into deductions the brand has received
  • Support Sales and Finance teams as needed
  • Assist with complex tech support questions
  • Build out new automations across our tech stack to improve operations

You will be successful with: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 2-4 years of experience in Trade Marketing or Sales within the CPG industry
  • Familiarity with retailer portals (Kroger, Albertsons, Target, UNFI, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Tech savvy! You work with data tools, AI platforms, RPA tools, product analytics tools.
  • Experience with automation or workflow tools (e.g., Zapier, Make, n8n, Vitally, AI Agents)
  • Highly organized and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent prioritization and multitasking abilities
