What does a work environment look like at Vouch?

Vouch has employees located across the U.S., with offices in San Francisco, Chicago, and New York City. This role can be based anywhere in the U.S. as long as you can work our Vouch core collaboration hours (8:30 am-2:30 pm Pacific Time) when most internal meetings are held.

Role Responsibilities: 


Vouch is seeking a Head of Placements to lead our carrier strategy and market relationships. This leader will set our placement vision, collaborate closely with other leaders across the business, scale a team of brokers, and ensure our clients have access to the best possible products and terms.


What You’ll Do

  • Define and drive Vouch’s placement strategy, including carrier selection, appetite, and unique product development
  • Hire, manage, and grow a team of ambitious brokers, ranging from entry-level to highly experienced
  • Oversee placement-level strategy across all lines of business, balancing coverage quality with margin optimization
  • Identify ways to drive efficiencies in our placement function, collaborating closely with our engineering and product teams to leverage and implement new technologies
  • Align placement expertise to our vertical industry client management pods, delivering deep technical support
  • Oversee claims advocacy and handling, as well as  risk engineering services over time
  • Lead and negotiate key carrier appointments, endorsements, and commercial terms
  • Expand access to markets and build unique products tailored to startup clients.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales  and Client Management Teams to deliver superior client outcomes.
  • Act as a trusted resource for complex placements and product-level expertise.

About You

  • 10+ years of relevant commercial P&C brokerage experience
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience
  • Proven ability to set and execute placement strategy across multiple dimensions (segments, lines of business, etc.)
  • You have an owner’s mindset — you take ownership, are proactive, accountable, and motivated by measurable outcomes
  • You value operational excellence — you know how to identify problems, structuring solutions,  align stakeholders, and ensure delivery of results with excellence and efficiency
  • You are a natural leader that gets energy from helping others grow 
  • You operate with a high degree of independence, exercising sound judgment in decision-making and driving initiatives forward with minimal oversight.
  • You’re deeply collaborative, working fluidly across departments to solve problems and deliver results
  • You consider managing external stakeholders and building trust with high-profile partners to be second nature 

Nice To Have:

  • Exposure to and passion for early-stage startups and/or high-growth environments
  • Previous experience at a high-growth startup, or demonstrated ability to innovate in a traditional environment
  • Background in broking technology or life sciences risk
