The Case Manager plays a crucial role in providing compassionate support and guidance through the reunification or

repatriation process to children in care. This position involves assessing the unique needs and circumstances of each

child, coordinating and guiding sponsors and children through the reunification or repatriation process, finding

resources in their community to meet their needs as they prepare for release, and advocating for their rights and

well-being. The Case Manager works closely with the child, parents, sponsor(s), legal representatives, and

government agencies to ensure an expedited but safe reunification or repatriation.


$3,000 Sign-on bonus



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

● Case Management Operations:

o Oversee the comprehensive management of case services, ensuring strict adherence to

protocols for child and sponsor evaluations, human trafficking screenings, and the

expedited and secure discharge of minors.

o Maintain meticulous documentation to guarantee compliance with VisionQuest, State, and

Federal regulations, conducting thorough reviews of all assessments, Family Reunification

Packets, and related documents for precision and correctness prior to submission.

o Ensure the timely and accurate submission of all reports and deliverables in accordance

with Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) guidelines, state licensing requirements, and

VisionQuest's incident reporting policies and procedures.


● Communication and Coordination:

o Maintain ongoing communication with ORR for safe and timely child release.

o Maintain regular contact with various outside stakeholders, including assigned case

coordinator, child attorneys, and child advocates.

o Coordinate with local pro bono attorneys for the timely provision of “Know Your Rights”

presentations to children.

o Assist with referrals and coordination of any specialty services.

o Maintain professional communication with all stakeholders, including child sponsors and

family members.

● Logistics and Travel Arrangements:

o Ensure timely travel arrangements for a timely discharge after the case is approved for

release.

o Ensure that travel arrangements are completed for program staff transporting children for

reunification or transfer purposes (may include booking airfare, hotel, and rental car).

● Compliance:

o Document all case management actions and communications as required by ORR.

o Maintain an in-depth understanding of VisionQuest, licensing, and Office of Refugee

Resettlement policies and procedures, and ensure that any updates are promptly

incorporated.

● Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.



SKILLS & ABILITIES:

● Excellent interpersonal communication skills with ability to listen actively.

● Commitment to professional development and proactive research.

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

● Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Google Drive) with the ability to learn

new software.

● Proficient in reading, interpreting and applying ORR P&P.



EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

● Bachelor’s degree in the behavioral sciences, human services or social services fields.

● Child welfare and/or case management experience is strongly encouraged.

● ORR Case Management experience is highly preferred.

● A minimum of one year of related work experience, preferred.



QUALIFICATIONS:

● Must be 21 years of age or older.

● Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

● Flexible schedule (evening, weekends, holidays) to facilitate program services.

● Cleared tuberculosis test results.

● Must be able to pass a drug test.

● Must be able to provide proof of required vaccinations.

● Cleared background checks from appropriate entities, including Child Abuse and Neglect and FBI

criminal background.

● Obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification.

● Must have a valid driver’s license and be eligible to drive to facilitate program services as required.



WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

● May lift and carry up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds

infrequently.

● Performs tasks that may involve standing or walking 50% of the day; sitting 50%of the day.

● May bend, stoop, reach and grasp as necessary.

● Must be able to provide First Aid and CPR.

● Must be able to perform physical holds as instructed in Crisis Prevention Intervention training

(CPI).


The pay range for this role is:

26.52 - 26.52 USD per hour (885)
