Job Purpose
As a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer, you will contribute to the digital foundation that powers VulcanForms’ manufacturing operations. You will build out, standardize, secure, scale and maintain a hybrid of AWS-hosted and on-premise services that provide mission-critical support across multiple sites. You will support developing the services that provide reliable data migration and processing from the edge to the cloud as well as analytics applications, enabling insights and innovative capabilities to unlock scalable additive manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of cloud infrastructure, ensuring availability and reliability for 24/7 manufacturing operations
- Build out Infrastructure as Code (IaC) resources to automate environment provisioning, deployment, and service management
- Scope, deploy, and manage AWS-hosted services
- Implement comprehensive logging, tracing, and monitoring to ensure visibility into system health and performance
- Partner with teams across the company to deliver services that accelerate their workstreams and enable new ways of working
- Support and manage the software development lifecycle, deploying custom applications into production, and maintaining best practices
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in AWS in a Cloud, Platform, SRE, or DevOps Engineering.
- Proven experience managing AWS-native resources in production environments.
- Strong proficiency in CDK, Terraform, Pulumi, or Ansible to manage infrastructure.
- Cloud-Native Networking: Solid understanding of service networking, load balancing, and securing edge-to-cloud traffic.
- Proficiency in Python or Go for building custom operators, service integrations, or platform automation.
- DevOps Leadership: Experience managing diverse deployment pipelines, supporting constantly raising the bar for software quality and development standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing multiple AWS accounts using SCPs, permission sets, and IAM roles.
- Experience running containerized workloads in diverse environments, including EKS and ECS.
- Experience with AWS-native streaming solutions such as IoT Core/SiteWise, Kinesis, Firehose
- Experience with AWS data lake management, especially using Glue and Athena.
- Service metrics and log monitoring with CloudWatch.
- Experience with persistent storage for stateful workloads (e.g. S3, Postgres).
- Prior work in manufacturing and industrial environments.
- Knowledge of MQTT, OPC-UA, or other industrial standard protocols and how they may interface with modern cloud platforms.
- Experience with hybrid cloud architectures as well as cloud/service migrations.
VulcanForms offers a competitive salary and equity package. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, VulcanForms provides comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; generous paid time off; and a 401(k) plan with company match.
The annual base salary range for this position is $132,600 to $182,300.
