Position Overview:
The Director of Sales is responsible for leading and overseeing the California sales team to drive revenue growth, develop sales strategies, and achieve sales targets. This role requires a dynamic leader with a deep understanding of the sales process, market trends, and a proven track record of driving sales success. The Director of Sales will be responsible for developing high-performing teams, optimizing sales processes, and working closely with senior leadership to align sales efforts with the overall business strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies that align with the company’s goals and growth objectives.
- Set clear sales targets and KPIs for the sales team.
- Analyze market trends, customer feedback, and competitive activity to identify new opportunities and refine the sales approach.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and inspire the sales team to achieve individual and team sales goals.
- Provide ongoing coaching and development to sales staff, including performance evaluations, training, and career development.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven sales culture.
- Proven track record of hiring and training new members of the sales team
Sales Execution:
- Oversee daily sales operations, ensuring that the team is effectively executing strategies and closing deals.
- Monitor sales performance and adjust tactics to meet changing market conditions or business needs.
- Direct and manage major accounts, negotiations, and high-level client relationships.
Performance Management:
- Track and report on key sales metrics, sales forecasts, and team performance to senior management.
- Use data analytics and CRM tools to measure sales team productivity, pipeline development, and revenue generation.
- Take corrective actions as needed to ensure goals are met, adjusting strategies and approaches as necessary.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with marketing, product, and customer service teams to ensure that sales strategies align with product offerings, marketing campaigns, and customer service standards.
- Represent the sales department in leadership meetings and contribute to cross-functional business strategy discussions.
Budgeting & Resource Allocation:
- Manage the sales budget and allocate resources effectively to maximize return on investment.
- Ensure the sales team has the tools, technology, and support needed to succeed.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and prospects.
Ensure that customer feedback and insights are communicated back to product development and other departments to inform future business decisions. Market Intelligence:
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes to ensure the sales strategy remains relevant and ahead of the curve.
- Provide market insights to senior leadership to guide product development, pricing, and positioning.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in a sales leadership role; 2 years of director-level sales leadership role.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets and growing revenue.
- Experience managing and scaling a sales team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Expertise in building and executing sales strategies, sales forecasting, and pipeline management.

Pay Range
Starting base at $185k plus commission (Remote - United States)
