Registered Nurse Specialist

As a recognized Hemophilia Treatment Center and a Center of Excellence, the Washington Institute for Coagulation d/b/a Washington Center for Bleeding Disorders (WACBD), is committed to the wellbeing of patients with an inherited bleeding disorder across the State of Washington, neighboring states, and Alaska.

Our staff is an ensemble of dedicated healthcare professionals and support personnel that are striving to ease the burden that bleeding disorders have placed upon our patients. Because of our care model we can offer a multi-disciplinary approach including exceptional nursing care and physician consultation, on-site pharmacy consultation, physical therapy services, social work, billing support to help navigate insurance issues, and a research staff working to develop and improve therapies that will allow our patients to continually improve their quality of life.

About the role


We have an exceptional opportunity for either a Full-Time Registered Nurse Specialist to join our team. We will provide on-the-job training for this specialty position, enabling the experienced RN to be successful in their new role. More opportunities to grow and contribute to the profession include collaborative projects with other Hemophilia Treatment Centers across the country, leadership roles at the regional and national levels, regional and national meetings & advanced specialty training. People who have served in this role have gone on to serve as preceptors to nurses in training, and adjunct instructors at local nursing schools, as well as conduct nurse-initiated research.


What you'll do


Duties include but are not limited to assessment, helping to coordinate care for patients, teaching, telephone triage, follow-up, planning for invasive procedures, venipuncture, review results of testing, home visits, infusions, participating in patient rounds, educate outside professionals, other caregivers, work with research team in clinical trials, collaborate with other team members, & participate in community education and outreach.


Qualifications


  • Current Washington State Registered Nurse license in good standing
  • Minimum 2 years acute care experience
  • Proficient in English language, both spoken and written
  • Computer proficiency
  • Master’s Degree in nursing or relevant field preferred or equivalent education and clinical experience, especially bleeding disorders

Benefits

  • Compensation - $100,000 - $125,000 per year
  • Signing Bonus - $7,500 (paid quarterly over first year)
