About the role

  • Applies and controls application of rubber onto metal material in accordance with Job Sheet/Standard Manufacturing Procedure (SMP) by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.     Applies coatings with margin guides of ¼” or less.

 

2.     Monitors coating process for controlled application.

 

3.     Visually inspects for and removes foreign materials under blade.

 

4.     Visually inspects coated material after application.

 

5.     Assists in line setup including responsibilities of back flush, filter bag change, etc.

 

6.     Lifts and cleans blade when splice in material occurs.

 

7.     Notifies Coating Line Operator of all problems.

 

8.     Communicates verbally with all line employees using intercom.

 

9.     Assists Coating Line Operator with problems with machine, materials, etc.

 

10.  Relieves other Coating Head Operators during all absences from coating station.

 

11.  Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

 

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Ability to work any continuous or fixed shift schedule including any day of the calendar week as required for operation of the position and mandatory overtime as implemented by management. 

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell.  The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and fumes or airborne particles.  The employee is occasionally exposed to humid conditions; extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
