About the role

The production scheduler is responsible for scheduling and coordinating flow of work within or between departments to expedite production.

What you'll do

  • Review master production schedule and orders.
  • Establishes priorities for specific customer orders.
  • Revises schedule according to order specifications, established priorities, and availability or capability of material and production lines.
  • Compiles reports concerning progress of work and downtime due to failures of equipment to apprise production planning personnel of production delays.
  • Maintains inventory of materials needed to complete production and establishes delivery dates.
  • May be asked to perform other duties at a lower or higher level of proficiency.
  • Work may include extended hours, including possible weekend work, to meet customer expectations.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a production scheduling or equivalent combination of education and experience (for example, 3-5 years of broad manufacturing background).
  • Understanding of ERP system and Microsoft Office products; strong computer skills.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
  • Good customer service/phone skills and flexibility for handling a wide range of activities.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems.
  • Demonstrate personal time management skills.

 This job operates in a production office environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes and odors. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

 The requirements of this position will require periodic visits to manufacturing environments where the associate will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes and various levels of temperature created by the manufacturing process.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
