About the role
The Plant Manager will be responsible for the managing of staff managers, providing strategic oversight and direction to the plant(s) and full accountability of the plant(s) P&L. Accountable for the overall direction, coordination, and performance of this unit. Also directly supervises non-supervisory employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include hiring, Union relations planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees.
What you'll do
• Accountable for Safety and Environmental Culture and systems throughout the plant.
• Work together with Director of Operations to drive optimum Safety, Quality and Delivery results and expectations.
• Complete Plant Manager Standard Work and all deliverables of the Plant
• Accountable for plant P/L budget development and implementation
• Production System is implemented across all functional areas per standard
• Optimize extended value stream KPI performance
• Coach and mentor, his/her staff
• Drive the identification, selection, and prioritization of projects with an emphasis on those that have breakthrough potential
• Train Value Stream Managers and his/her staff on the application of tools and appropriate project planning to improve processes and eliminate waste.
• Audit the Value Stream system on a regular basis (LPA’s)
• Accountable for project executions from inception to completion, including communication of results and verification.
• Develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes and personnel designed to accommodate the growth objectives of Wolverine.
• Based on sales forecasts, complete long-range planning of required man hours, capacity, materials availability, tooling, and available floor space.
• Accountable for customer, quality and or safety related audits, including meeting/exceeding environmental standards

Qualifications
• Minimum of Bachelor’s level degree in Engineering or related technical field and minimum of fifteen (15) years business experience in Supply Chain and/or Operations functions.
• Minimum eight (8) years of leadership experience at either supervisory or managerial level, preferably in automotive related industry.
• Must have developed and managed to an operational budget
• Must have experience in product launch(s) or demonstrated high-level project management leadership role(s).
• Must have demonstrated ability to create and lead teams and drive change for implementation of Production System.
• Demonstrated continuous improvement and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Toyota Production System/Lean Certification is required.
• Must have demonstrated computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Must be able to perform administrative duties as requested
• Lead TS or ISO audit responsibility preferred
• Green belt certification preferred
• Must be able to travel up to 25%
