Intake Attorney: Sign Clients, Change Lives, Log Off at 5 PM

We're the employment law firm that gets clients paid faster. While other firms drag cases through years of litigation, we've perfected the Wanta Thome Resolution Method™—a proven system that maximizes settlement value while accelerating case resolution. We represent employees in discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage disputes, focusing on high-value cases that resolve efficiently through strategic pre-litigation work and targeted litigation when necessary. Our team operates on clear metrics, transparent processes, and the belief that justice delayed is justice denied. We're building the gold standard for employment law representation—one successful case at a time.

100% remote role for an attorney who wants to help people without the litigation grind.

Most employment attorneys spend their days buried in discovery disputes and motion deadlines. You'll spend yours having real conversations with people who need help—and converting those conversations into life-changing legal representation.

If you've ever thought "I went to law school to help people, not to argue about document production schedules," this role is designed for you.

What Makes This Different

We're Wanta Thome, and we've built an employment practice around getting clients justice fast. While other firms drag cases out for years, we've perfected systems that resolve matters quickly and efficiently—which means we need an intake attorney who can identify the right clients and get them signed immediately.

This isn't document review or motion practice. This is strategic client acquisition through meaningful human connection.

We run on EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System), so you'll have clear metrics, weekly feedback, and quarterly goals. No politics, no billable hour pressure, just straightforward performance expectations that let you succeed and go home.

Our core values guide everything:

  • Teamwork: We win by working together seamlessly
  • Impactful Agility: Fast decisions that drive real outcomes
  • Relentless Excellence: Consistent high performance in everything we do
  • Results-Driven: Outcomes matter more than activity
  • Radical Candor: Direct, caring feedback that helps everyone improve

Work Location

This role is 100% remote with possible quarterly travel to Minneapolis for team strategy sessions. When we do meet in person, it's intentional and valuable—not just meeting for the sake of meeting.

The A-Player Profile We Need

  • Natural Relationship Builder: You've consistently demonstrated ability to build trust quickly with people in difficult situations. Former colleagues would describe you as someone who "just gets people" and can establish rapport within minutes of conversation.
  • Sales Excellence: You have proven experience converting interested prospects into committed clients through consultative conversation. References would confirm you consistently exceed conversion targets while maintaining authenticity and client-centered approach.
  • Communication Mastery: You've successfully handled emotionally charged conversations with grace and professionalism. Previous supervisors would highlight your ability to explain complex information clearly while showing genuine empathy.
  • Systems Discipline: You have a track record of following established processes while adapting to individual client needs. Former managers would say you're reliable about documentation, follow-through, and maintaining quality standards across high-volume work.
  • Performance Orientation: You thrive on clear metrics and accountability. References would confirm you not only meet targets but actively work to improve processes and outcomes.

What You'll Actually Do Every Day

  • Client Consultations: Conduct 8-10 telephone consultations daily with potential clients who've been screened by our intake paralegals. These are warm leads who need attorney evaluation to determine case viability.
  • Case Assessment: Quickly identify employment law violations, assess case strength, and determine firm fit based on our proven criteria for successful outcomes.
  • Client Conversion: Use consultative approach to convert qualified prospects into retained clients, explaining our process, setting expectations, and securing engagement agreements.
  • Strategic Documentation: Maintain detailed notes in HubSpot that enable seamless handoff to pre-litigation or litigation teams within 48 hours of client signing.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to refine scripts, improve conversion rates, and enhance the overall client experience.

Performance Standards & Metrics

  • Consultation Volume: Handle 42-45 qualified consultations weekly (full-time) with proportional targets for part-time schedules
  • Conversion Excellence: Convert 90%+ of qualified consultations to signed clients through consultative selling approach
  • Response Speed: Complete client conversion process within 48 hours of initial consultation to maintain momentum and client confidence
  • Quality Documentation: Maintain HubSpot records that enable litigation teams to begin work immediately without requesting additional information
  • Client Experience: Achieve 90+ NPS scores reflecting professional, empathetic, and efficient intake process

The Reality Check (Because Honesty Matters)

  • Emotional Conversations: You'll speak daily with people facing discrimination, harassment, or wrongful termination. Some will be angry, scared, or desperate. You need genuine empathy plus professional boundaries.
  • High-Volume Phone Work: 40% of your time involves back-to-back phone consultations. If you prefer email communication or need quiet work time, this role won't suit you.
  • Rejection Management: Not every consultation converts to a client. You'll need resilience to handle "no" decisions while maintaining enthusiasm for the next call.
  • Systems Adherence: Our intake process works because everyone follows it consistently. You can't freelance the approach, even when you think you have a better idea.
  • The right attorney sees these challenges as energizing rather than draining.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Legal Foundation: JD from accredited institution with active bar admission in any US jurisdiction (you'll work under supervision, so specific state admission isn't required)
  • Demonstrated Competencies: Proven track record in client-facing roles, sales, or business development. Ability to provide specific examples of relationship building and conversion success.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional phone presence, active listening abilities, and talent for explaining complex concepts in accessible language.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfort with CRM systems, phone technology, and standard office software. Experience with HubSpot preferred but not required.

If you get it, want it, and have the capacity to do it—this role will feel like home.
