About the role


We are seeking a proactive, hands-on Security & Compliance Engineer to join our team. This entry level position is perfect for a doer type who thrives on solving problems and is eager to build a career in security and compliance. In this role, you will respond to and resolve security concerns within our application environment, develop scalable processes to manage audit requests, and continually update your knowledge with the latest practices and designs in security and compliance. Please note this role is open in the following states: Texas, California, Oregon, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Montana.

What you'll do

  • Monitor and address security incidents in our applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve potential vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain clear communication during security incidents to ensure swift resolution.
  • Develop and implement scalable systems to manage and respond to audit requests.
  • Ensure our processes and applications comply with relevant security standards and regulations.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for internal audits and external regulatory reviews.
  • Work closely with IT, development, and operations teams to support secure application design and deployment.
  • Stay informed about the latest security threats, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
  • Research and recommend new security tools, technologies, and design patterns.
  • Support the integration of security best practices into the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 1 year of internship, work experience, or project completion highly preferred.
  • Proficient in at least one high level programming language.
  • Basic understanding of security frameworks standards, and certifications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and an analytical mindset.

Compensation Range: base salary range $70K-$75k (based on location)
