Join our mission-driven team at Phaedon as an On-Call Proposal Director. This senior-level role requires a seasoned proposal expert who can immediately step into high-priority projects with minimal onboarding. The On-Call Proposal Director will manage active proposals and oversee RFI/RFP responses, client briefs, and custom pitches as needed. This is a variable hour, on-call position based on the demand of active proposal work, ideal for a highly experienced professional seeking flexible, project-based work.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary leader for designated proposal projects, overseeing all phases of the proposal lifecycle, from kickoff to delivery.
- Coordinate proposal activities, working directly with internal experts, sales team members, and presentation designers to craft tailored, compelling response strategies.
- Manage the proposal process, including requirements review, scheduling, strategy facilitation, solutioning, and overall project management.
- Ensure high-quality, timely delivery of all RFI/RFP responses, pitches, and custom proposals.
- Utilize expertise in digital marketing, communications, professional services, or SaaS to strengthen proposal content and showcase our agency’s value.
- Act as a point of guidance on best practices, leveraging senior-level insight to influence proposal direction and alignment with client needs.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Liberal Arts, or a related field.
- Minimum 7+ years of proposal management experience in high-paced environments, with a strong background in digital marketing, professional services, and/or SaaS.
- Proven ability to manage proposals independently, including rapid assessment of project needs and client requirements.
- Expertise in persuasive writing, editing, and the ability to articulate value propositions in response to client needs.
- High emotional intelligence, capable of adapting quickly to varied project requirements and team dynamics.
- Ability to work remotely and independently with minimal guidance, while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.

- Demonstrated leadership in proposal management, with the ability to guide cross-functional teams and communicate clear action plans.
- Superior organizational skills to handle multiple projects on tight timelines, ensuring seamless coordination and delivery.
- Advanced skills in PowerPoint and proficiency in Microsoft Teams and/or SharePoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective relationships and create alignment among stakeholders at all levels.
