ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE, THOUGHT LEADERSHIP
Are you a natural storyteller with a passion for helping changemakers amplify their voices? Do you excel at translating complex ideas into compelling, high-impact narratives? RALLY is seeking a thoughtful, strategic communicator to join our growing Thought Leadership team as an Account Executive.
In this role, you'll help elevate the public profiles of executives, advocates, and experts across a range of issue areas. You’ll work across 2–4 client teams at a time, contributing to platform development, messaging, executive visibility, and strategic storytelling, while collaborating with colleagues in earned media, digital, and creative.
You are a strong candidate if you bring excellent writing and ghostwriting skills, the ability to shape an executive’s voice, digital fluency, and an awareness of amplification opportunities. You thrive in fast-paced, high-stakes environments, are comfortable managing up to senior leaders and C-suite clients, and enjoy connecting the dots between strategic insight, emerging trends, and powerful stories.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to the shaping of a leader’s voice and point of view through the development of framing recommendations, written content, and persona alignment
- Draft, edit, and ghostwrite high-quality thought leadership materials, including op-eds, LinkedIn posts, blogs, executive bios, talking points, and speeches
- Develop tailored executive platforms by conducting stakeholder interviews, analyzing the issue and peer landscape, and facilitating messaging workshops to define narrative direction
- Synthesize research, data, interviews, and insights into sharp, actionable messaging and storytelling strategies
- Conduct research to inform platform and messaging strategy, including issue landscape analysis, communications audits, and identifying whitespace opportunities
- Monitor news cycles, thought leadership trends, and public discourse to identify timely opportunities for clients to engage meaningfully with their audiences
- Support client events and executive briefings with strategic memos, prep materials, and backgrounders that distill key information and messaging priorities
- Collaborate with teammates across earned media, content development, and digital to support the integrated execution of thought leadership campaigns
- Contribute to new business development by supporting pitch materials, capability decks, and case studies tailored to prospective thought leadership clients
- Perform other duties as required to support the team and the organization's priorities
- Advance the growth of the Thought Leadership vertical by sharing best practices and participating in vertical team discussions and trainings
- Manage workflow across multiple clients and internal projects, ensuring excellence in execution and communication
QUALIFICATIONS
Must-Haves:
- 3–5 years of experience in strategic communications, public relations, or a related field, with a focus on thought leadership and executive communications
- Demonstrated interest in elevating the voices of leaders, advocates, or organizations driving change
- Exceptional ghostwriting and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, compelling narratives for a variety of audiences and platforms
- Experience managing social media accounts or strategy for public figures or leaders
- Proven ability to build relationships with senior leaders and C-suite executives in high-stakes environments
- Demonstrated proficiency in strategic thinking, including identifying problems, recommending solutions, and exercising sound judgment
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent research and synthesis skills, with the ability to distill data, interviews, and trends into actionable insights and compelling narratives
- A self-starter with a collaborative mindset, comfortable working cross-functionally with creative, earned media, and digital teams
- Proficiency with modern tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and major social media platforms
- A curious, adaptable, and emotionally intelligent approach to ever-evolving client needs and project ambiguity
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with communications related to advocacy, philanthropy, or public interest policy issues
- Experience coaching clients for public speaking, or speech writing
- Experience with podcast production, media training, or long-form content development
- Familiarity with media monitoring platforms or emerging AI tools for writing and research
- Background in politics, nonprofit leadership, or editorial strategy
- Experience supporting new business or marketing efforts in an agency or consultancy setting
- Working knowledge of design and presentation tools like Canva or Adobe Express

Compensation Transparency: RALLY typically brings new team members in toward the lower to middle portion of the posted salary range, depending on experience and alignment with the role.
This is a full-time, hourly position at $29–$34 per hour, with a guaranteed 40 hours per week and opportunities for growth and advancement based on performance and contributions to the team’s success.
