Wellspring is currently seeking a Sales Director for our Sopheon organization.

About the role

The Sales Director will lead the sales team of four Account Executives in the U.S., responsible for driving top-line revenue via new logo sales. There is a separate team responsible for growth in existing accounts.
 Drive sales success in the target markets of major manufacturers in a variety of industries
including aerospace, defense, chemical, technology, pharmaceutical, automotive, medical
device, and consumer packaged goods, to meet quarterly and annual sales goals.
 Training and professional development, including sales process, methodology, systems, and
processes to ensure a repeatable, predictable revenue stream.
 Hiring the highest caliber sales professionals who are a good fit for the organization, successful onboarding, and continuous coaching and development of the sales team are
priorities. In addition, territory assignments and sales incentive plans should be evaluated
and revised as needed from time to time, in collaboration with the executive
leadership team.
The Sales Director works closely with the sales team progressing and closing business with
creativity, enthusiasm, and a “roll up your sleeves” mindset.
 Regular reporting of the sales pipeline, forecast, activity, account planning, quota attainment,
win/loss reports, competitive information, etc., to the leadership team.

Ideal Candidates will have the following:

 The candidate must know how to build, lead, and scale successful high-growth and strategic
sales teams through a combination of i) strong leadership with the ability to instill high-
performance culture and accountability and ii) focus and dedication to data/metrics-driven
decision-making.
 Successful enterprise sales team leadership experience in the Innovation/Research & Development space.
 Proven sales success as an individual contributor – experience with large deals ranging from
$100k ARR to $1M.
 Experience growing a SaaS sales team from $5M - $20M
 Ability to create and execute sales strategy and tactics, including success with a complex sales process and methodology
 Proven experience collaborating with Marketing, Product Management, Pricing, Operations, and Finance teams to build a “data-driven machine” that continually optimizes its execution to build and accelerate the Go-to-Market engine.
 Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills
 Results-oriented leader with advanced internal and external rapport-building skills
 Proficient in Salesforce and other sales technology / Experience working with Sales Operations
 Professional demeanor
 Adaptable
 Conscientious with a sense of urgency about fulfilling responsibilities
 Ability to motivate a team
 Excellent organizational skills
 Bachelor’s degree, MBA a plus
 Ability to travel 20-25%, primarily domestic.
