Job Title: Sustainability Partnerships Manager

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Department: Sales

Job Type: Full Time
Hiring Range: $65,000 - $85,000 USD

Job Summary: As Whitestone grows, we’re elevating sustainability from a value to a revenue driver. The Sustainability Partnerships Manager will own two key outcomes:

  • Build upon our foundation and run Whitestone’s internal ESG program (EcoVadis, CSR Committee, reporting, supplier engagement, compliance, etc.)
  • Build, sell,  and grow a dedicated book of business with sustainability-aligned customers (1% for the Planet members, climate-conscious brands, ESG-driven enterprise buyers, purpose-led nonprofits)

This role is part strategist, part seller, part educator, and part storyteller; a hybrid of sales, sustainability leadership, and cross-functional program ownership. Our ideal candidate is energized by selling and wants to be the face of sustainability-driven commerce; knows how to turn ESG into a sales advantage—not just a compliance activity; and can move easily between internal initiatives (policies, reporting) and external functions (sales calls, webinars, events).

Core Competencies:

  • Sales & Business Development: Proven ability to sell or grow accounts (ideally B2B or agency).
  • Storytelling & Communication: Strong presenting, educating, and content collaboration skills.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Ability to influence across teams without authority.
  • Analytical Mindset: Skilled at setting KPIs, tracking progress, and presenting data.
  • Entrepreneurial Drive: Comfortable building while doing; resourceful and proactive.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Revenue & Sales Growth (Primary)
    • Prospect, pitch, and win new business with mission-aligned and sustainability-focused clients.
    • Build and scale a sustainability-driven customer segment targeting between $300-500K in new revenue within 15 months.
    • Collaborate with Marketing to create sustainability-led sales content (case studies, decks, thought leadership).
    • Partner on four customer-facing sustainability webinars per year to drive education, pipeline, and revenue.
    • Represent Whitestone at industry and climate-related events to build credibility and drive inbound leads.
  • ESG Leadership & Internal Ownership (Secondary)
    • Own and improve Whitestone’s EcoVadis assessment submission process, partnering across departments.
    • Lead the CSR/ESG Committee and track quarterly progress against KPIs and executive priorities.
    • Manage ESG partnerships (Aclymate, 1% for the Planet, SBTi roadmap, consultants, and key suppliers).
    • Partner on B Corp exploration and certification readiness, if approved.
    • Support company-wide ESG visibility—quarterly All-Hands updates, impact reporting, sustainable product expansion, and staying ahead of emerging compliance requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2-4+ years of sales, account management, or business development experience with a strong track record of winning and growing business.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence both customers and internal partners.
  • Proven ability to build trust, drive decisions, and keep momentum across teams and partner organizations.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort working remotely with strong ownership and follow-through.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn ESG through hands-on training.
  • Passion for purpose-driven business, ethical commerce, and emerging sustainability trends.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, resourceful, and solutions-oriented

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in ESG, sustainability, CSR, supply chain responsibility, or responsible sourcing.
  • Background in branded merchandise, promotional products, agency, print, retail, or similar industries.
  • Experience with frameworks such as EcoVadis, 1% for the Planet, or B Corp.
  • Experience selling to values-driven brands or nonprofits.
