Hiring Range: $115,000-$130,000.00
Job Summary: The Manager, Technology Enablement at Whitestone is a hands-on, builder-focused role responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of our internal and client-facing technology stack, including platforms like Liftoff and other online store solutions. You will manage our Web Development team, serve as the escalation point for technical issues, and ensure seamless functionality, integrations, and scalability across platforms and tools.
This role works cross-functionally with our Enterprise Solutions Specialist to align technical execution with business objectives, operationalize technology across the organization, and deliver automated, scalable solutions that improve both internal workflows and client experiences. You will also manage relationships with external IT partners, supporting infrastructure, security, and device management.
This is a “build-first” role: you will help define the technology roadmap, set standards, and implement systems that grow with the company. Your work will directly shape the foundation of Whitestone’s technology ecosystem.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and grow the Web Development team, including contractors and future hires.
- Oversee project planning, timelines, and task allocation for online store builds, maintenance, integrations, and feature rollouts, ensuring work is tracked in Asana and delivered on schedule.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for technical issues—both internal and with third-party partners—and actively contribute to unblock critical issues.
- Maintain deep knowledge of Whitestone’s tech stack (such as Liftoff, Shopify, etc.) and ensure accurate, scalable system integrations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Production, Creative, Finance, and the Enterprise Solutions Specialist to gather requirements, prioritize initiatives, and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Establish and enforce project management standards and development workflows that support rapid, tested, and reliable deployment.
- Manage relationships with external IT partners to ensure infrastructure support, endpoint security, compliance, and helpdesk coverage.
- Document processes, maintain internal SOPs, and continuously improve system reliability, integrations, and operational efficiency.
- Champion the adoption of AI technologies by designing and implementing AI-driven workflows (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Cursor, Lovable, etc.) that enhance productivity, optimize operations, and elevate the value delivered to clients.
- Drive organizational enablement by training and coaching teams on AI best practices, while identifying and deploying practical use cases across store setup, ticket resolution, documentation, QA testing, and data analysis to improve efficiency and outcomes.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in technology enablement, enterprise systems, or web development leadership in the promotional products or eCommerce industry.
- Hands-on experience developing in industry ecommerce platforms (Liftoff, Four51, BrightStores, Znode, Adobe Commerce, or similar platforms).
- Strong understanding of SaaS ecosystems, integrations, APIs, workflow automation, and AI tools.
- Proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Experience leading Web Developers or small technical teams.
- Strong analytical thinking and a passion for helping others use technology effectively.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
- Experience managing vendor/IT partner relationships and contracts.
