Engineering Intern

The Engineering Intern will have the opportunity to learn and contribute to the development of our systems under the guidance of experienced engineers. You will assist in transforming assist and be exposed to many facets of software engineering including: API’s, databases, data science, single page application design, and cloud infrastructure. This role will focus on learning, with the goal of you becoming a productive member of our team. To this end you can expect our support through mentorship and collaboration. The position will be based in our Burlington, VT Office.


What you'll do

  • Assist in expanding the capabilities of our existing products.
  • Contribute to the development of new product features and services under mentorship.
  • Learn to integrate with a diverse range of 3rd party APIs.
  • Communicate with stakeholders on product development.
  • Work through the full software lifecycle with guidance from more senior engineers.
  • Learn to write tested, quality code, that meets customer expectations.

Education

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Required Qualifications

  • Self-motivated and eager to learn. We will help you, but we do expect self directed learning as well.
  • Working knowledge of Java or Javascript
  • Basic understanding of RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with Git.
  • Some exposure to Java development (coursework or personal projects).
  • Ability to work collaboratively on a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of relational databases.
  • Exposure to automated testing concepts (Junit, Mockito, etc) and testing strategies.
  • Familiarity with Spring Framework.
  • Exposure to Kotlin.
  • Interest in working in a startup environment.
  • Exposure to a cloud environment (AWS).

The pay range for this role is:

20 - 25 USD per hour (Office)
