ABOUT THE ROLE


Windsor is seeking motivated individuals who love to learn and grow their skills, and who want to help their teammates do the same. The Mechanical Engineer | Design Lead will drive innovation and excellence in HVAC design, leading technical teams to create efficient, sustainable solutions while fostering strong client relationships and mentoring junior members. Their consulting and technical expertise will be crucial in optimizing building systems, ensuring design quality, and coordinating across multiple projects, ultimately contributing to improved energy efficiency and occupant comfort in diverse built environments.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Demonstrate Windsor's core values: The Right Attitude, Ownership, and Constant Improvement
  • Lead HVAC design efforts as technical design lead on projects
  • Act as Engineer of Record for mechanical systems
  • Provide technical guidance and design direction to project teams
  • Work closely with clients and other stakeholders to represent Windsor positively and grow strong long-term relationships
  • Develop and maintain relationships with team members and those we collaborate with outside of the company (including clients)
  • Effectively communicate design options and technical solutions to diverse stakeholder groups
  • Assist with estimating and proposal efforts for new project opportunities
  • Coordinate design activities across multiple projects while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
  • Mentor and train junior team members on HVAC design principles and best practices
  • Ensure design quality and adherence to Windsor's Quality Management Plan (QMP)
  • Develop and apply advanced knowledge of HVAC systems, codes, and interdisciplinary coordination
  • Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, and other disciplines
  • Complete site visits for design verification and troubleshooting


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent work experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure  
  • Minimum of eight (8) years experience in the MEP design industry, 
  • HVAC design experience
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience as Project Manager preferred

The pay range for this role is:

95,000 - 125,000 USD per year (Vancouver)

95,000 - 125,000 USD per year (Portland)

95,000 - 125,000 USD per year (Seattle)
