The Opportunity: As an Executive Assistant to the Chair, you will work directly with Chair Remiker, assisting with his scheduling, inbox management, meeting coordination, and task management. You will be responsible for helping him prepare for meetings, stay up to date on important messaging, and maintaining a healthy workload. The Executive Assistant will also work closely with the rest of the Executive team, supporting events, organization, and scheduling on request. 


Job Responsibilities: 

  • Manage scheduling requests for the Chair, ensuring their calendar reflects a realistic work-life balance as well as the values of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. This includes making decisions around importance, priority, and impact of scheduling decisions. It’s your show.
  • Key point of contact for partners, Party Unit leaders, donors, and other stakeholders who work closely with the Chair.
  • Manage the Chair’s inbox by developing an organizational method and leading daily meetings to review important messages, agendas, and ongoing projects.
  • Ensure the Chair’s tasks and projects are completed in a timely manner by monitoring progress and building in work time to the calendar.
  • Attend Senior Staff meetings as a representative of the Chair.
  • Lead weekly scheduling meetings with members of the Senior Team. 
  • Liaise between the Chair and the rest of the Senior Leadership team, ensuring questions and tasks are being addressed, minimizing miscommunication. 
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for the Chair.
  • Track and file reimbursements for the Chair.
  • Drive the Chair to events on request, as well as staffing him at the events.
  • Owning special projects as assigned.
  • On year requirements include working outside of normal work hours; including canvassing and other election-preparation as necessary.


Qualifications (Required):

  • 2-3 years of experience in an Executive Assistant level position, ideally working with a Principal.
  • Experience working in a political party or on an election campaign.
  • Organizational Skills - Demonstrated ability to handle incoming information from several mediums while remaining incredibly organized.
  • Manages a high volume of work with efficiency - Has, or can create, a system for keeping tasks from slipping through the cracks. Able to juggle competing demands and prioritize without sacrificing quality. Plans backwards to make deadlines. Asks for help when needed.
  • Scheduling Experience - Have the skillset to handle multiple calendars successfully.
  • Confidentiality Management - Experience or ability to navigate multiple sources of confidential information with discretion.
  • Growth Mindset - Ability to take and implement feedback.
  • Relentlessly Goal-Oriented - Enjoys working toward and achieving ambitious goals. Keeps calm in stressful situations. Has the capacity and willingness to work long hours during peak season, rolling up their sleeves and getting the work done.
  • Cultural Competency - Able to build authentic relationships across lines of difference, such as race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, class, ability, gender identity, citizenship status, or other identities. Understands how to take an inclusive lens into all aspects of work.


Qualifications (Preferred):

  • Inbox organization and management experience.
  • Political Aptitude.

The pay range for this role is:

72,000 - 82,000 USD per year (US)
