About the role


The Registered Dietitian is responsible for the overall nutritional management of a population of clients with eating disorders. The dietitian will be responsible for client meal planning, individual nutrition counseling, and group therapy. The dietitian will also plan and assist in the execution of individualized nutritional exposures for clients and their families.  


What you'll do

  • Develop and implement the overall nutritional philosophy of the program as it relates to recovery from an eating disorder.
  • Complete an initial nutrition assessment for all clients, including establishing target weight range based on client history and norms.
  • In conjunction with the medical team, develop and implement a nutrition plan, exercise plan, and exposure to fear/challenge foods plan.
  • Meet with assigned patients weekly, and more frequently as required.
  • Meet with clients and their family members/support system for sessions and check-ins.
  • Oversee and/or participate in management of meal programming, evaluate the effects of meal programming and suggest and implement changes as needed.
  • Work with patients on consistent use of remote patient monitoring devices.
  • Reassess nutritional needs on an ongoing basis, update treatment plan, and effectively communicate recommendations to the treatment team, family, and patient as necessary.
  • Deliver evidence-based nutrition education geared toward challenging irrational thoughts and beliefs around food, nutrition, weight, and shape.
  • Timely and frequent communication utilizing between-session messaging to support patients and communicate with the treatment team.
  • Regularly communicate with outside providers.
  • Transcribe, record, and maintain patient information in the electronic health record system.
  • Engage and collaborate in Treatment Team meetings, supervision, and department meetings.
  • Lead/Co-lead/Attend nutrition groups.
  • Develop meal plans, taking both cost and client preferences into account.
  • Participate in initial and ongoing training.
  • Other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration who has completed their dietetic internship and maintains registration requirements and licensure as set forth by the Commission on Dietetic Registration and applicable state regulations.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to provision of excellent care, advancing clinical skills, and a passion for professional development.
  • Respect and maintain the confidentiality of all patient information.
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal skills and can build collaborative relationships. 
  • Must have effective decision making and judgment capabilities.

  • Must be socially perceptive; that is, aware of the reactions of others and understanding those reactions.

Physical and Environmental Requirements


  • Employees are required to read, review, prepare and analyze written data and figures, using a computer or similar, and should possess visual acuity.
  • This position answers and places telephone calls as well as video conferences and must be able to converse.  
  • Must be able to converse with colleagues via telephone and computer programs.
  • Must be able to operate a computer and navigate applications within a smart-phone, iPhone, MacBook computer and/or tablet.
  • Vision required to see computer monitor and phone / tablet.
  • Able to sit for the majority of shifts.
  • Must have reliable internet connection.
  • This is a work-from-home position.  Work should be performed in a private, quiet space with minimal background noise.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work independently.

The pay range for this role is:

63,000 - 83,000 USD per year (Remote - Miami, US)
