Compensation: $19/hr 

Regular Duties 

Our mission at HOEM is to create wonderful communities and our Videographer is a key part in documenting the experience of our students, and engaging them in a way that makes them love their time at HOEM. A high-level overview of the role includes: 

1. Video Content Creation 
2. Photography and Videography 

We’re a team of people who does whatever it takes, so there will be other duties that you are assigned in your role with us that don’t fit nicely into this list.    

A successful candidate for this position will love social media and find joy in creating content for HOEMs YouTube channel and Instagram. A successful candidate is extroverted, able to recruit HOEMies to take part in their videos and feels comfortable being in the videos themselves. They also think creatively, outside of the box and is expected to adapt to changing design trends.  

Successful candidates are expected to have excellent time management, organization and prioritization skills. They must be able to meet tight deadlines, fast review turnovers and communicate effectively with their supervisor.  

At the end of the contract term, success in this position will look like: 

• High Viewer Retention: Our YouTube channel experiences high engagement and viewer retention rates. 
• Brand Growth: Our brand is effectively created, expanded, and preserved within our niche. 
• Mission-Driven Content: All produced content is in line with our mission and service standards and viewers feel like they are getting to know us as a company. 
• Community Engagement: The Videographer successfully inspires the HOEM community to participate and interact with each other. 
• Timely Content Release: Video content is produced, edited, and released on schedule, showcasing strong time management and organizational skills. 

Work Schedule  

Hours of Work: 5-10 hours per week, scheduled around your academic schedule. Some hours must be done in the HOEM Base office.  

Team Meetings: Mandatory and in person. These meetings will be scheduled as early as 7am and as late as 10pm bi-weekly. Exact date and time will be determined as a team based on academic schedules.  

One-On-Ones: To be scheduled with your supervisor around your academic schedule. Every effort will be made for these to be scheduled during an assigned work shift.   

Training: There is mandatory training that you need to be present for.   

Summer: August 17th-21st, 2026

Academic: January 9th/10th

Move-In & Move-out Days: Move-in and move-out days are mandatory for the full HOEM team. You will receive at least 2 weeks’ notice for your assigned work hours for these days.    

August 22-23, 2026

August 29-30, 2026

Away Date Blackout Periods: Due to the cyclical nature of our work, there are specific periods that no scheduled absences will be permitted:   

August 16th - August 31st, 2026

April 24th - May 2nd, 2027

All successful candidates must maintain student status throughout their term of employment. They must also pass a Police Criminal Records Check through their local Police Department at their own expense. Preference will be given to applicants who live at HOEM.
