Position Summary
The HOEM Run Customer Experience Associate supports the daily operations of HOEM Run, a mini-market at our Jarvis Street location. This role is responsible for providing friendly, efficient customer service while keeping the store clean, organized, and well-stocked. As part of the HOEM team, you'll help create a wonderful community by making sure every interaction is safe, welcoming, and puts our customers first. We value doing the right thing, working creatively, and adding moments of joy to everyday interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide a welcoming, friendly experience
- Operate the POS system for fast and accurate transactions
- Answer basic questions about products, pricing, and store policies
- Support smooth customer flow during peak times
- Restock shelves, coolers, and displays while keeping products faced and visually appealing
- Monitor inventory levels and flag low or out-of-stock items to supervisor
- Assist with receiving and putting away deliveries
- Maintain cleanliness and organization across the store
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards, including checking expiry dates and proper handling of pre-packaged items
- Support opening and closing tasks (light cleaning, restocking, securing product)
- Follow store procedures to support loss prevention and safety

Success means our customers walk in and get fast, friendly service every time - no surprises, just consistency they can count on. The store looks good all day long, with shelves stocked and everything in its place. When customers check out, it's quick and accurate. The team communicates clearly and supports each other to keep things running smoothly.
Qualifications & Skills
- Friendly, reliable, and customer-focused
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
- Calm and efficient in a busy environment
- Comfortable using POS technology (training provided)
- Retail or customer service experience is an asset
Schedule & Availability
- Shifts are typically 3-4 hours
- This is a part-time role with 10-15 hours per week based on availability
- Morning, evening, and weekend availability preferred
- HOEM Run hours include early mornings and late nights
