Job Overview: 
Working Wardrobes is seeking a dedicated and experienced People/Human Resources Operations professional to join our team. This position requires a strategic thinker who is hands on and can streamline organizational processes, foster a positive working environment, and contribute to the overall success of our mission. The ideal candidate plays a crucial role in managing all functions of human resources including talent acquisition, onboarding, culture, employer brand, employee and volunteer relations, DEIB, and payroll. This position also manages our volunteer program and assists in some accounting functions. 
 
Responsibilities: 
  1. People Operations Management: 
    1. Develop and implement People/HR policies and procedures in alignment with organizational goals. 
    2. Oversee the recruitment and onboarding process for staff. 
    3. Manage employee relations, performance evaluations, and professional development. 
    4. Drive culture across the organization.
    5. Manage diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) and ensure the organization is considering candidates from all walks of life. 
    6. Mapping and improving key moments in the employee journey and life cycle to enhance their overall experience.
    7. Assist Finance Department with bi-weekly payroll.
  2. Volunteer Recruitment and Management: 
    1. Develop and execute strategies for recruiting, screening, placing, onboarding and training volunteers (like staff) to support all organizational initiatives. 
    2. Maximize engagement and development of volunteers to fulfill organization’s needs.
    3. Coordinate and execute volunteer orientations, training, and ongoing engagement activities (including stay and exit interviews). 
    4. Regularly recognize and appreciate volunteers for their contributions to the organization.
  3. Operations and Process Improvement:
    1. Streamline internal processes to enhance organizational efficiency.
    2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas of improvement. 
    3. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
    4. Assist Finance Department with payroll and accounting activities.
    5. Performs other duties as assigned. 
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in achieving human resources, accounting, and nonprofit goals and initiatives with integrity and grit.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Thoughtful relator.
  • Demonstrated experience in volunteer recruitment and management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Humble achiever.
  • Nimble, constant improver and learner.
  • Adaptable user of technology/systems.
Preferred Skills:
  • Certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SHRM) preferred.
  • Proficiency in Human Resource software (e.g., Rippling, Workday, etc.) and specifically Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Familiarity with volunteer management platforms. 
  • Strategic planning and project management skills.

The pay range for this role is:

66,560 - 70,000 USD per year (Santa Ana, CA)
