DESCRIPTION  
Partnering with the Store Managers of our Hanger Boutique and Outlets, the Retail Sales Floater is committed to keep customers in the loop regarding marketing promotions, building sales to meet weekly/monthly goals, juggling schedules of busy volunteers, selecting the right mix of merchandise, and handling the myriad of details to ensure that customers find a connection that sparks a valuable, long-lasting relationship. This position empowers and motivates our staff and volunteers to fully align with our mission; support and engage customers and, at the same time, be the impetus to increased revenue that serves the mission of Working Wardrobes and the broader community. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Retail Sales Floater is in direct client contact and responsible for furthering awareness of Working Wardrobes through the resale stores to serve more individuals in our community including:  

 

  • Build sales and exceed goals with great customer service interaction and clientele. 

  • Support the Store Managers to ensure outstanding customer service and shop merchandising are being carried out throughout the day. 

  • Able to work and travel to other Working Wardrobes’ locations as needed (other stores, donation center and corporate offices to pick up merchandise) 

  • Utilize exceptional time management and organizations skills, and be able to prioritize tasks, projects, customers, and volunteers.  

  • Able to use current Point of Sale (POS) system for the entirety of a shift as needed. 

  • Ensure the work environment is safe and free from hazards.  

  • Communicate effectively with customers, staff, volunteers, and donors. 

  • Work in a retail location as a coverage shift.  

  • Be a team player – working with your team of Store Managers and Assistant Managers to support our entire retail operations group. 

  • Demonstrate professional standards and adhere to dress code(s), while being an advocate for WW Policies and Procedures. 

  • Assist the Store Managers in training volunteers/interns. 

  • Ability to manage a team that may have physical restrictions and/or disabilities. 

  • Work weekends and holidays and plan schedules in advance with payroll considerations. 

  • Move quickly, in a fast-paced environment requiring rapid motion.  

  • Must be punctual, reliable, and flexible to adjusting schedule based on operational needs. 

 

CUSTOMER SERVICES 

  • Cultivate relationships with customers, donors, volunteers, and Working Wardrobes staff management. 

  • Maintain daily volunteer coverage schedule, daily and weekly statistical tracking. 

 

MERCHANDISING AND INVENTORY 

  • Ability to show a working knowledge of various brands and price inventory accordingly. 

  • Merchandise the store weekly and seasonally, utilizing knowledge of current trends. 

  • Process clothing and communicate inventory control levels to Store Manager. 

  • Train and manage inventory/POS sale assistance volunteers. 

  • Assist with performing and executing the annual inventory audit.

  • Collaboration Thorough attention to detail is required as you will collaborate with partner agencies to meet the needs of clients referred to Working Wardrobes client services both internally and externally and work well with all staff.

  • Fashion An interest in professional fashion trends with the ability to communicate current workwear trends and expectations to volunteers. 

 

REQUIREMENTS:   

Education and Experience: 

  • Minimum two years of retail sales experience, two years in a supervisory role or has worked as an Assistant Store Manager  

  • Manage and maintain inventory records and track/report store sales. 

  • Computer and POS literacy & proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.  

Skills Set: 

  • Bilingual English/Spanish highly desirable. 

  • Exceptional interpersonal (a drive for sales) and communication skills (both verbal and written)                                 

  • Excellent organizational skills. 

  • A team player approach and the ability to be effective in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Professional demeanor and positive, upbeat “can do” attitude. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS   

  • This position requires regular moving, talking, hearing, reaching, lifting, grasping, pushing, pulling, and standing. 

  • Must be able to move and stock garment racks approximately five feet in height. 

  • Able to push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs. 

  • Able to work weekends and holidays and plan schedules in advance with payroll considerations. 

  • May occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders. 

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle. 

  • Comfortable working in a retail location alone, or with volunteers.  

  • Able to operate office equipment such as a computer, calculator, copy machine.

The pay range for this role is:

19 - 21 USD per hour (Orange County, CA)
