Construction Scheduler

Summary: 

As a YA Consultant, you will be working independently to coordinate and manage construction schedules for various projects. Consultants are responsible for performing inspections of project sites to evaluate project progress, conducting analysis of project documents and data, effectively relaying findings, and updating schedules. Consultants are expected to use a large measure of independent judgement, considering, and weighing alternatives when appropriate, taking into account the financial and operational significance of the services being performed.

  

Role & Responsibilities: 

  • Participate in all phases of the construction planning & scheduling process, including the development of schedules and ongoing schedule updates.
  • Conduct forensic analysis of project schedules, contemporaneous documentation, and construction costs.
  • Perform inspections of construction project sites, evaluating project progress.
  • Review and organize large amounts of construction project documents and data.
  • Perform schedule delay analysis to establish the cause and extent of delays and to resolve construction delay claims.
  • Evaluate construction productivity and progress data, extended general conditions, and expediting expenses.
  • Assess the impact of project changes and schedule delays, effectively communicating findings.
  • Operates on behalf of clients to monitor and manage timelines, expenses, and other factors critical to operational efficiency and cost management during all phases of construction.
  • Review and synthesize relevant information to prepare technical project reports.
  • Maintain job files, documentation, and other relevant deliverables.
  • Interface with other department employees, contractors, and clients on a regular basis
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or equivalent field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2+ years' experience managing projects within the construction or engineering industry required.
  • EIT or PE, PMP, and PSP certifications are considered a plus.
  • Experience using critical path method (CPM) techniques to analyze construction project schedules.
  • Previous experience with builder’s risk insurance policies, construction claims management, and managing contractors.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Oracle Primavera 6, and ASTA Powerproject preferred.
  • Ability to travel as needed to project sites and client offices weekly within the Nashville area (approx. 25-35%).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team towards a common purpose.
  • Strong communications skills, with the ability to interface with various stakeholders and clients.
