Summary

The Benefits and Leave Administrator will support the day-to-day administration of all employee benefit programs including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and 401(k). This role will serve as the primary contact and will administer all aspects of employees requesting or requiring leaves of absence, ensuring they understand the benefits available to them and their responsibilities, as well as coordinating applicable paperwork and documentation.



Role & Responsibilities

  • Facilitates new hire benefits orientation sessions, educating staff on benefits available, eligibility, and answering any questions employees may have.
  • Assists in reviewing, developing and distributing all benefit enrollments materials.
  • Ensures accurate and timely employee benefit enrollments and changes in YA's HR and vendor systems, obtaining required documentation for new hire enrollment and Qualifying Life Events (QLEs).
  • Manages the leave process from start to finish, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulation while maintaining accurate records and coordination with employees, management, and YA's leave of absence provider(s) where applicable.
  • Provides exceptional employee experience by responding in a timely manner regarding all benefit inquiries.
  • Supports annual open enrollment processes to ensure all critical tasks are completed, employee communication is timely, and deliverables are executed.
  • Identifies areas improvement for existing processes and procedures.
  • Acts as the liaison between YA and YA’s benefits carrier regarding any questions, issues, or errors.
  • Maintains internal employee benefit resource sites with the most up to date information and plan resources.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in benefits administration.
  • Ensures all benefits as administered in accordance with Plan documents.
  • Prepares and manages reports for billing for insurance coverages.
  • Assists in 401k audits when applicable.
  • Troubleshoots system issues related to benefits as they arise.
  • Other projects as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in human resources management, business administration, finance, or related field required.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in benefit and leave administration required.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local leave laws, including FMLA, ADA, and other relevant leave programs.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and provide recommendations.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discernment, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Experience with HRIS and benefits management software.
