Trophy Point, a division of YA, provides Pre-Construction consulting services with an emphasis on Construction Cost Estimating services. Through the estimates provided and Trophy Point's knowledge of construction, the organization works with its customers to aid in the alignment of scope and budget on a given project. 


Summary: 

The Electrical Cost Estimator focuses on electrical demolition, temporary power and lighting, distribution, lighting systems, wiring devices, branch circuits, equipment connections, communications equipment, access control, AV/IT, and other electrical systems. This role is responsible for producing accurate, detailed cost estimates that help stakeholders make informed decisions about scope and budget alignment. The Estimator works collaboratively with clients, design teams, and internal colleagues to deliver high-quality pre-construction support.

 

Role & Responsibilities: 

  • Review and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and narratives. 
  • Participate in client and internal project kick-off meetings. 
  • Develop and submit RFIs and solicit quotes from suppliers and subcontractors. 
  • Perform electrical quantity take-offs using OST, Sage, BIM, and other estimating software. 
  • Apply appropriate unit pricing using historical data, vendor quotes, and market benchmarks. 
  • Conduct comparative cost analyses to identify opportunities for budget alignment. 
  • Maintain strong, positive working relationships with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders. 
  • Prepare organized, standardized estimate reports for client and internal use. 
  • Deliver estimates and follow up with clients in a timely manner. 
  • Support closeout documentation efforts as needed. 
  • Contribute to improvements in electrical estimating processes and best practices. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: 

  • Familiarity with building electrical systems preferred. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. 
  • Experience with OST, or similar estimating software preferred. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated. 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
