About the role

We are looking for a Content Adaptation Specialist to serve as the critical bridge between our scholarly work and our digital audience. In this role, you will review our existing subject matter, including papers and videos, to produce content such as summaries and answers to frequently asked questions on the topics. This effort serves two primary objectives: deepening user engagement on our platforms, and optimizing our content’s visibility among Large Language Models (LLMs).

You will establish a professional, scalable content pipeline that dramatically increases our production capacity, ensuring our faith-based guidance is accurate, digestible, and widely discoverable.

What you'll do

1. Content Production & Quality Control

• Provide editorial oversight and quality control for all auxiliary content generated for Yaqeen papers, videos, Hashiya, and other content products.
• Support the creation, review, and refinement of auxiliary content developed for product experiments and new content formats.
• Oversee the effective utilization of AI tools to draft preliminary auxiliary content. Apply expert editorial judgment to rigorously refine, verify, and validate the output against source material to ensure academic accuracy and fidelity.
• Adhere strictly to Yaqeen’s style guide and brand guidelines to ensure a seamless and consistent reading experience between the original source and the auxiliary content.

2. Scaling & LLM Optimization

• Collaborate with the AI Visibility Lead to design and implement optimized processes and tools (including in-house or commercial AI solutions) for the high-volume, structured generation of auxiliary content, directly supporting the goal of scaling production capacity.
• Work with the AI Visibility Lead to format and structure content specifically to be easily parsed by AI models and search engines.
• Systematically audit our existing library of papers and videos and backfill them with auxiliary content using the established workflow.

3. Cross-Functional Strategy

• Collaborate with Product Managers and the AI Visibility Lead to design and execute tests on how different content formats impact key user metrics (e.g., Pageviews, AI Mentions, Returning Users, and Time on Page) for each product.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in editing, journalism, or technical research writing.
• Demonstrated ability to read, critically analyze, and structurally edit complex research papers. Proven ability to explain complex subjects simply and accurately without sacrificing fidelity.
• Exceptional portfolio demonstrating expository writing and the ability to distill complex information into accessible, engaging formats for diverse digital audiences.
• High familiarity with AI tools and workflows (e.g. using AI to support research, drafting, analysis and process improvement).
• Working knowledge of how LLMs and search engines process structured data and content (e.g., semantic search, answer boxes) is preferred. 
• Training in Islamic studies is essential to ensure sensitivity and accuracy.

Part 1: Original FAQ Creation

Task: Create 4 FAQs (questions and answers) based on the above paper.

Guidelines:

• Questions should sound like what a real reader would ask—curious, natural, conversational
• Answers should be between 100-200 words each
• Your FAQs should collectively cover the paper's main argument, key evidence, practical implications, and any novel perspectives and/or misconceptions that the paper addresses
• Include a range of difficulty: some for newcomers to the topic, some for readers with more background
• Ensure that the FAQ is drawn from the paper alone
• Maintain the voice, tone and writing style of the paper’s author
• Maintain complete accuracy to the source material while making it accessible

Deliverables:

• 4 FAQs (question + answer)
• For each FAQ, include a brief rationale (2-3 sentences) explaining why you chose this question and what aspect of the paper it addresses

Part 2: Content Distillation

This section assesses your ability to adapt scholarly content for different formats and audiences.

Task: Create the following summary materials for the same paper.

A. Executive Summary (150-200 words)
Write a summary that a busy professional could read in under two minutes and understand the paper's main argument, supporting evidence, and key takeaway.

B. One Thing to Remember (1-2 sentences)
If a reader forgets everything else from this paper, what is the single most important insight they should retain?

Your submission will be assessed on:

• Critical Analysis: Ability to identify the core arguments, evidence, and structure of scholarly work
• Accessibility: Skill in explaining complex subjects simply and accurately without sacrificing fidelity to the source
• Writing Quality: Clear, engaging expository writing suited for diverse digital audiences
• Islamic Literacy: Demonstrated understanding of Islamic concepts and sensitivity to how they are communicated
