About Yaqeen Institute

Yaqeen is a nonprofit on a mission to pioneer Islamic research in creative, cutting-edge formats tailored to meet people where they are. We work to dismantle doubts through well-researched truths, nurture conviction by strengthening belief with practical, spiritual guidance, and inspire contribution by reviving our tradition of faithful changemakers, insha’Allah. We’re seeking like-minded professionals who embody Islamic values including sincerity, excellence, and compassion, and want to make a difference in the faith of people worldwide.

About the role

Build and own Yaqeen's fundraising presence across Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore from the ground up. This is a market-entry role — you will seed the major donor pipeline, execute Donor Engagement Events, and deliver revenue growth across all three markets. You report directly to the VP, Global Development and operate with significant autonomy. The expectation is that you are self-directed, commercially sharp, and driven by results.

What you'll do

Major Donor Development

  • Seed and grow the major donor pipeline across all three markets through direct outreach, personal networks, and community engagement
  • Execute a structured stewardship program for regional donors at $10K+ giving levels — touchpoints, impact updates, and DEE follow-up
  • Coordinate targeted solicitations with local board members and Yaqeen leadership in each entity

Donor Engagement Events (DEEs)

  • Plan and execute banquets, iftaars, and private donor gatherings across Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore within defined budgets
  • Source and manage contracted local event support for each market; engage appropriate Yaqeen scholars for each event
  • Set pre-event revenue targets, track actuals, and complete structured donor follow-up post-event

Campaigns & Fundraising Strategy

  • Own regional execution of Ramadan and Dhul Hijjah campaigns in coordination with Yaqeen's global development team
  • Develop annual fundraising plans with revenue targets, pipeline milestones, and KPI accountability per market
  • Build diversified funding streams: individual giving, major gifts, institutional grants, bequests, and waqf structures

Institutional Giving & Planned Gifts

  • Identify and pursue grants from foundations, Islamic finance institutions, and corporate partners across the region
  • Embed planned giving and waqf conversations into donor cultivation; identify corporate match opportunities

Market Intelligence & Operations

  • Track and report pipeline health per market to VP, Global Development — qualified prospects, conversion rates, revenue trajectory
  • Maintain CRM records with full accuracy; ensure compliance with local regulatory and Shariah requirements
  • As markets scale, support assessment of readiness for local hires or expanded regional team structure

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5–10 years of fundraising or business development experience with a track record against revenue targets
  • Major Gifts: Demonstrated major donor or high-value relationship portfolio experience
  • Regional: Deep knowledge of the Muslim donor landscape across Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore
  • Technical: Proficiency in CRM software; experience with grant writing and event management
  • Language: Fluency in English required; Bahasa Malaysia and/or Bahasa Indonesia strongly preferred
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field
